Sandbar has invited all of his friends from the School of Friendship for a get-together before Nightmare Night. To get into the spirit of the season and learn a bit about each other's races, he decides that they should all share scary stories from their cultures.

Ocellus thinks they seem sort of similar.

Thanks to Petrichord for help with some proofreading and brainstorming.

One thousand years ago, the Ancient Ones arrived. To each of their progeny they came seeking submission, and came to rule through peace or through blood. The Princess asked two sisters to cede their rule over Equestria. When they refused, she banished them to the moon, their forlorn visages to ever look down upon the denizens and nation they lost.

With the one thousandth Summer Solstice Celebration approaching, the Royal Scholar Twilight Sparkle discovers a prophecy that The Mares in the Moon shall escape with the aid of the Stars, and return to Equestria with fire and fury. However, she is ordered by The Princess to disregard such a false prediction and assist with preparations in the small township of Ponyville.

A madmare, a farmer, a braggart, a socialite and a wallflower may be her only hope of saving Equestria.

A Lovecraft-Lite AU which is inspired by the Lovecraft Mythos, but does not require having read Lovecraft stories in the past to understand.

Cover art commissioned from Nemo2D.

Thanks so far to Shaslan and Zontan with some proofreading help.

This was written for the Quills and Sofas Speedwriting Group's "Write Something Terrible" Panic (though I did not, in fact, write terrible things.) We're on Discord here if you'd like to join us!

Rumor has it that there's a very intriguing painting on display at the Canterlot Art Museum. It's attracted the affluent, the famous, the critics... and the attention of the authorities investigating the elite patrons' disappearances.

Amazing reading by Pony&Wolf Productions here!

Written for a "Three Rules" Panic Fiction contest for the Quills and Sofas Speedwriting Group. We each had 3 prompts related to a theme, my theme I received was "color", and my rules were:

1. Your fic must name at least three colors named in it.
2. Your fic must have a version of the words "vivid" and "dull" in it (adjective or adverbs or verbs or names or whatever).
3. Your fic must describe a color in an unusual way, or with words normally used for a different sense (crisp yellow, loud purple).

You can take the quiz for deciding the prompt here if you're curious. We (Quills and Sofas) are on Discord here if you'd like to join us for more writing madness.

Every time Luna falls asleep, her lover vanishes. Every morning, she must find who he's replaced.

Sex tag for allusions to sex off-screen and mentions of stallion's equipment. You know the drill. Better safe than sorry.

Written for Zontan as part of a Christmas fic exchange. The prompt he gave was "I want a story about a sympathetic villain protagonist. Tempest, Nightmare Moon, Starlight, Chrysalis, etc - so long as they're out there doing villainous things for good reason."

Pronoia: believing the world is conspiring in your favor
Paranoia: believing the world is conspiring against you

As a former member of Canterlot's elite law enforcement team, Twilight Sparkle is used to a certain level of responsibility. However, her years of experience are rendered useless by her sudden and unwanted transfer to the sleepy little town of Ponyville. With no other option, she chooses to give into the monotony.

But this all changes when a grisly murder shocks the entire town. As the only member of Ponyville's police force equipped to deal with this sort of thing, Twilight welcomes her first real case in over two years. But she quickly realizes that there is more to this murder than meets the eye. It seems Twilight's past has followed her to Ponyville.

With the help of her loyal assistant Spike, a series of strange clues, and some cryptic notes, Twilight tries to figure out the identity of the pony or ponies who have wrapped her up in their bizarre game.

"The town of Ponyville doesn't exist."
That's how this all started. That single matter-of-fact sentence is how this entire thing began. Because despite what the books say, despite what the maps say, despite what the princesses say, Ponyville does exist.
Lyra remembers. Her memories of Ponyville run perpendicular to her memories of growing up in Canterlot. But of course nopony believes the crazy conspiracy mare.
That's fine. Lyra doesn't need anypony to believe her. She just needs to find her way home.
