Inspired by the "Seeds of Extinction" Haunted House from Universal Studios Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights 28.

I thought it was just a particularly hot summer. When my friends and the rest of the town started acting weird, I thought it was just the heat. After all, we've had heatwaves before, and those always drive ponies a little crazy. That's what I told myself, anyway.

And then I did some digging and realized I was right... and also very, very wrong.

Yesterday, a letter arrived in Twilight's mailbox. It was a letter from her parents, asking her to go to their old country house and get some important things before the house was sold. No one had visited the building in years, so it had obviously taken on an unpleasant appearance.

Well, the list of things to pick up is pretty short, so I don't think I'll be here too long.

This story is a sequel to A Silent Film

If you were to ask Vintage Cinema, a writer of true mystery books, Applewood has a long history of darkness underneath the glitz and glamor. His attention has turned to the Equestrian Society for Film Preservation in hopes of finding a film that is linked to his ancestor who disappeared during the silent film era. While his hunch does pay off, he finds that the film he has been looking for might have more than one mystery wrapped in its film reel.

Fluttershy has always been afraid of the Everfree Forest at the best of times, let alone in the dark of the night; yet this didn't stop her from making her home so close to it in case any nearby animals needed her help. When she hears the sounds of a hurt animal coming from the forest so late at night, her fear again would not stop her from helping the poor thing.

But most of all, she is an entertainer, and after she and her friends had a spooky adventure renovating the abandoned Canterlogic building in Maretime Bay, she had an idea. Why not livestream a full-scale paranormal investigation? More than that, since they now know where it is, why not hold said investigation in the ruins of Canterlot Castle? It's rumored to be haunted, after all! Oh yeah, this livestream will blow the Pippsqueaks away!

If only Pipp knew the true nature of Canterlot Castle, or the things that still dwell within.
