Final Report Notes

Journal was found beside emaciated remains of human, presumably Twilight Sparkle. Identification difficult due to the condition of the corpse.

Entire planet covered in dense foliage. Predatory. Subsisting on surviving reptiles, amphibians, and insects.

Flora keeps attempting to attack, but our magical shields are working for now.

Per the Princess' command, samples have been collected and will be returned to Equestria at once for study.

This concludes this report.

Very interesting fic, with the reveal of how it was spread hitting shockingly. The tone was very fitting, while not very deep in details, it's how someone would write in a journal. The lack of defense of humanity is hidden within the dates and the intelligence of the attackers, going out only all at once.

Just one thing: For the end I was confused why the last chapter was put in the author's notes, as it's part of the fic. To differentiate, one could put it in quotes or a different format, but an author's note is per se an author's note.

Nonetheless, a quick, enjoyable read with a slow buildup to what is happening

Honestly, the part that most bothers me is how plants are generating CO2. But they’re alien horrors from beyond the stars, so I suppose there’s some leeway there. :derpytongue2:

Engrossing tale of slowly unfolding horror. Every time it seems like it’s as bad as it gets, a new layer reveals itself. Nice work.

Why? Why would you take samples?? Read the journal. Don't take samples!!!!!

Anyway, this was good stuff. Really enjoyed reading it.

Was a nice surprise to see one of my favorite houses in a fic, and I really enjoyed this one!

Glad you liked it. If you haven't seen them, I also did fics inspired by Field of Screams from 2004 and Graveyard Games from 2019.

Toying with the idea of something for Slaughter Sinema.

Any house you think might make a good fic?

Definitely going to read those next then!

There's so many good ones! Scarecrow could be fun (the land turning on farmers who abused it)? And Dead Man's Pier from this past year could be a fun inspiration.
