Pinkie Pie preemptively apologizes to Twilight: she's going to ruin their friendship.

Some secrets need to be kept, and others need to be set free; but sometimes, not even the Element of Honesty can tell the difference. How do you tell your family the truth about something that you can't even admit to yourself? When Applejack begins to realize that she may have feelings for a friend, she needs to find the courage to accept who she really is before she can truly be happy.

It is Equestrian tradition that, when a pony comes of a certain age, they are given a magic timer that counts down the days until they're destined to meet their soulmate. Rarity was very excited the day she got hers.

She just hadn't expected it would be counting up.

Short ficlet based on a prompt I got on my Tumblr blog. Original prompt was to write a drabble set in a universe where "timers are set on the wrist of every person once they are a certain age, slowly counting down until the day they meet their soulmate".

Rainbow Dash doesn't know how to cook.

I already submitted a fic to the AppleDash Warm and Fuzzy Feelings Event, but I wanted to write another one, so I asked for a prompt, and I got "Skillet." This is the result. This was also a speedwrite, done all in 1 hour, plus 15 minutes to edit.

Being part of the Apple family requires certain things. One key part: you have to enjoy eating apples in all their forms. ALL.

Applejack knows there's a big gap in Rainbow Dash's culinary world, and that won't do. If they're going to be together, they must cross that final bridge. Of pie.

Rainbow Dash knows one thing for sure, she is definitely not a barbarous, uncivilized dolt who doesn't know polite conversation from a hippopotamus's rear end. And also that she's definitely not the one who's wrong. Rarity is wrong. Rainbow Dash is absolutely, totally, a hundred percent sure of it.

But then why did Rainbow just buy a wagon load of apology bouquets?

Competition. It drives us all one way or another. Whether it’s to be the fastest flier, the best team, the greatest magician, to steal a land in jealous fury, or simply to beat that other pony to the stall for the last carrot; competition is in all of us.

Some claim that a competitive nature is healthy, and keeps a pony sharp and fit. Others claim it drives ponies apart and should be avoided as much as possible.

Rainbow Dash and Applejack don’t care about any of that. They just don’t want the other to win. Theirs is an unending game of friendly one-upmanship, a constant striving to prove their superiority to one another for no other reason than they can.

Neither of them thought it would ever bring about romance in their lives.

Presented with the opportunity to design and paint the ad campaign for an upcoming clothing line, Rarity realizes it's been a long time since she's drawn anything aside from clothing designs. She needs some practice to knock the rust off and a live model to draw from. Rainbow Dash is the perfect pony for the job.

Now if only Rarity didn't find Rainbow's posing so provocative ...
