It finally happened as Twilight always knew it would. The first of her friends had died. The Element of Loyalty too. Not loyal enough to stick around. No, that was the depression talking.

And the lack of sleep. Something was prowling the halls of her castle at night and, for some reason, she was the only pony that ever heard it; although, one guard did mention something strange happening to the lighting once.

It could not be ghosts. Their very concept made no sense. Intangible yet able to hear? What a contradiction.

But just in case…

In a world where ponies see in grayscale until they meet their soulmates, finding your soulmate is a momentous occasion, where the special connection between you quite literally colors your life. When Twilight began dating Rarity, she didn't mind that she couldn't see in colors.

Or, so she thought, until the day Rarity suddenly could.

RariTwi Challenge fic meant to be a different take on one of the many Soulmate!AU prompts circulating Tumblr.

If Twilight had learned something from her relationship with Rarity, it was that even if she was hopelessly in love with the other unicorn, she wanted Rarity to fulfill her dreams -- even if it meant sacrificing their own relationship and breaking both their hearts.

Sunset waited outside the assembly hall, gazing down at her hands. Her mind was going over the spell again and again, remembering what the Princess had said, so long ago.
Behind the doors she could hear, even feel, the rumble of conversations inside the large room. No doubt everyone there knew what they wanted to say and do to her.

When Sunset Shimmer realized that the real reason the school had acted as it had was because of her past actions—and her willingness to pretend they had never happened—she decided to put an end to the whole thing.

And the hurt she had caused others.

A long asked for short sequel to my first fic on this site, Sum of Their Parts. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed it enough to push me to write this epilogue of sorts to the original tale.

Princess Twilight is back! But she is not responding... She came through the portal and just dropped dead onto the ground. Okay, she isn't actually dead but... she isn't awake either. No one knows what happened, and it doesn't look like she'd wake up to tell them.

Sci-Twi has a lot of questions. One of them includes this other Twilight. And Sunset has to be the one to tell her. Yeah... this is gonna be weird.

With an age-old threat poised to devastate Equestria, the Princesses gather to use a spell left behind by the great Star Swirl the Bearded in order to ensure their victory.

Now all four have become an entirely new being, with her own thoughts and feelings. And in order for the Princesses to return, she will have to die.

Twilight Sparkle, though aware that her life would undoubtedly have unexpected turns, never once imagined something like this. A dream, or perhaps, something more than that. Visions of another mare, so very much like her, who wishes to speak with her. A mare who looks to this young earth pony, and sees potential. And perhaps, just maybe, a chance to learn of her life, and impart a little bit of wisdom here and there.
