Starlight is awoken from her mid-day nap by Trixie, who soon demands she take her to get gauges to match Starlight's own. Trixie is afraid of needles.

This story takes place in an alternate universe where everyone is human and around college age. This isn't an Equestria Girls story.

Trixie has started a new show in Pony Ville. With the assistance of her best friend Starlight, they will perform some of the greatest feats of magic ever seen.

Trixie surprises Starlight with a wagon trip to the country in the hopes of laying bare her fears for the future. However, before the night is done, both will get to know a side of the other they have never seen before.

Trixie has been taking lessons from Starlight Glimmer on how to hone her magic into something more focused and malleable. However, it turns out that Trixie’s magic is too unstable for Starlight to handle. When Trixie sees Starlight’s outburst, she tries to make it up to her in the only way she knows how.

Starlight, after attempting a new spell, has shattered a very important mirror. With a replacement in hoof, she has a run in with Twilight that leads the book pone to get antsier and antsier.

All this culminates to a discovery equal to that of Starswirl the Bearded.

It’s hard being a reformed villain. Starlight Glimmer had big plans to change the world for the better. That was until Princess Twilight and her friends arrived in her town and derailed those plans. Now she’s living in Twilight’s castle on parole, and without a clear idea where she’s going in life.

Though a unique opportunity presents itself when Twilight offers her the chance to run Ponyville’s Hearts and Hooves Day celebrations, and she agrees to help. With Trixie and Spike by her side, she has new plans for what she sees as an outdated holiday. Pity for her everypony else has different ideas for the Hearts and Hooves Day.

Its New Years Eve and Twilight is throwing a party for all her friends. However Trixie Lulamoon is not having a lot of fun so she starts looking around for Starlight. When she finds her alone however, it quickly becomes something, more.

Starlight Glimmer finds out that a part of her memory has been erased. And not only hers, Twilight Sparkle’s, too.

But when they have their memory restored, they have to deal with the terrible mistake they have made. They have to come clean with Starlight’s fillyfriend Trixie, and somehow figure out with how it could have happened if they want to salvage Starlight’s relationship.

Vivid memories of the night in question are not proving to be particularly helpful.

After a long-due day off, Starlight gets to join Trixie on a best friends day out. Unfortunately Trixie's sour mood causes Starlight to worry, and a chain of events unexpectedly pulls them closer. Starlight plays good friend(tm) but begins to realize there may be something else she's feeling.
