[My first attempt to write some romance. Please, don't be too strict to me.]

Relationships between Twilight and Trixie always were terribly hostile. When Trixie says too much, Twilight hits her in public, and leaves her alone. Only now Trixie understands, that Twilight means something for her. A simple apology wouldn't help the situation. Or would it?

Trixie decided to give it a shot. For the good's sake.

When Rarity and Rainbow dash come back from Manehattan with some news about a familiar performing unicorn, Twilight goes to investigate what lies are being told now. Especially when they're about the princess herself.

Almost freezing to death has its perks… not really, unless you’re as desperate as Trixie the Great and Powerful; she wishes to earn the forgiveness of everypony in Ponyville. In order for her plan to succeed she needs the assistance of her most unlikely ally; Twilight Sparkle, while grappling with emerging romantic feelings for her ex-rival. If Rainbow Dash doesn’t chase her off first; Trixie may get the fresh start she wants… that she needs.

The Great and Powerful Trixie has been working smaller venues than she is used to ever since the debacle in Ponyville. But that's not that big a deal for her, she's had to start from the bottom before. But just as she's reaching the heights she once knew and is poised to shoot even further, she runs into an annoyance from her past, one that seems dedicated to remaining an annoyance.

Set not too far after Trixie's first appearance in the series, and obviously going to ignore later appearances. Just something I thought of when thinking about Trixie's character and imagining some more depth behind it.
Teen for drinking scene and some implied bedroom business later, though nothing on screen.

Let me know what you think. This is my first time not writing from the view of one of the mane six, though the point of the story means my usual attempts to portray characters accurately will not be a factor.

Update: this story is now extending from it's original premise. While the feel of it should not change too much there will be more and potentially more mature content. Shouldn't be anything too bad but it's become a little more spontaneous so I'm not sure what kind of content should be expected at this point.

Haunted by memories of her past, The Great and Powerful Trixie returns to the scene of her greatest defeat. Will she find a new path in life, or will the past make that impossible?

Twilight couldn't be happier for her friends. Rainbow Dash and Applejack have gotten together after their mishap in the Everfree Forest. Big Macintosh and Fluttershy have finally hit it off. And even her new friend Octavia has even found love with Vinyl Scratch! The only exclusions are Pinkie and Rarity, who are too preoccupied with parties or dresses to even care!

But...what about her? What about Twilight...who feels as if she's missing out?

There's little she can do about it for right now though, as Princess Luna herself has requested she help deal with a problem in Manehatten. Somepony has been causing serious trouble in the city that never sleeps, and Twilight isn't going to believe who's behind it all!

Can she let go of the past, look past the facade, and see a pony who's hurt, broken, and afraid?

Can she save a mare who everypony has deemed a 'Phony', a 'Failure', and a 'Dead End of Life'?

Will she hear the cries of help from a mare she thought she knew...and take a Leap of Faith?

Trixie hates Rarity.
Rarity hates Trixie.
Which is problematic, since Trixie needs her cape mended and Raritys the only seamstress in town on a professional level.

Trixie Lulamoon hasn't always been the nicest of ponies. She's done things in her life she isn't proud of. Things, she's afraid will one day catch up to her in the life beyond this one.
Twilight, like usual, has all the answers Trixie needs.
