Spike has often felt hindered throughout his life, especially after moving to Ponyville. He took pride in being Twilight's number one assistant, but there were plenty of times where he felt like an errand boy. One who got into situations that required him being saved. A recent development has changed things however. Not to a grand scale, but it was still significant. And he loved it. So much that he needed to enjoy it. And the night was a perfect time for it.

Tempest Shadow was forgiven, and assigned to Twilight Sparkle's personal guard. Another villain reformed, another new friend for Equestria.

Another villain who didn't face justice.

The Noble Court has finally had enough, and has gathered together to form an inquiry into Celestia's reasoning for letting so many villains off the hook. The time has come to have the Princess of the Sun reveal why she's let so many of Equestria's most dangerous threats off of the hook.

They have to be careful, as Celestia has hooks of her own.

It is Twilight Sparkle's first night as a princess of Equestria, and she cannot sleep. As the excitement she felt during coronation fades away, it gives way to a deeper anxiety. The young alicorn lies awake, her thoughts dwelling on her new destiny, her responsibilities, her fears, and her own mortality.

Or, as the case may be, her lack of it.

As morning draws nearer, Twilight leaves her bed haunted by a question, and so she decides to seek out the one pony who can answer it.

Twilight's first Winter Wrap Up in Ponyville had a rocky start. Things took a turn for the better when she assumed control over the planning and organization, but after a stressful morning and with an all-nighter in front of her, she was afraid it might all be for naught. Luckily Applejack was there and knew Twilight needed a chance to take a break and recharge.

She needed a visit to the Thinkin' Spot.
