During King Sombra's reign over the Crystal Empire, Mother's Day has been little more than a holiday to dismiss as no longer important in his life. Now, facing a destiny-altering decision that may cost him his iron-hoofed grip on the Empire, he has to face the fact his pony half needs and still wants the advice of a creature who not only leads the most feared race in Equestrian history, but also happens to be his mother.

I like to write poems. They are about rocks. My sister says I should try writing about things other than rocks. I don't see the appeal, but Pinkie is very insightful.

Pinkie said buttons are a popular topic lately, and they should be paired with something ending in "ash".

Passover has come and gone, and all that remains is the trial before the Crucifixion. Jesus is in the temple gardens, praying for strength for the coming ordeal, when a stray thought turns into a prayer for some kind of comfort before he leaves. That prayer is answered not in the spirit, but the flesh, as a certain yellow pegasus pays him a rather unusual visit.

After helping Applejack out with her chores, Twilight and Rarity wonder about their friend and Earth Ponies in general. Applejack doesn't seem that good at thinking, lateral or otherwise. But is she really as slow as she seems?

Cheerilee is a happy mare. She has an amazing marefriend, loves her job, and overall has a happy life. 

Sure, Rara’s music career can keep them apart for some time and sure, maybe she gets a little annoyed with her students occasionally but those little things are just part of life. 

It’s not like he has any skeletons in her closet. 

Nope, Cheerilee is an unhappy stallion mare.
