Twilight Sparkle wants to take Sunset's offer of friendship.

But she must refuse, because if she doesn't accomplish a certain task before she surrenders her magic, then there will be an unfolding cascade of catastrophes that will tear apart the world that she lives on.

But Twilight doesn't know everything, and Sunset begins a race against time to prevent a past threat from rising again.

When five foals asked Princess Twilight Sparkle to please try and paint the moon purple during Nightmare Night, she initially refused. It wasn't until they insisted (and Princess Luna quite basically dared her) that she relented. She only relented, however, because she really thought she wouldn't be able to do it.

Sunset Shimmer was getting ready for bed like she did every night and was casually wishing that she wanted to be a pony again. It was a thought that crossed her mind from time to time so she hadn't really thought much about it but the next day she discovers that that quick wish had come true. Now she and her friends have to figure out what happened and how to fix it. Meanwhile Sunset is becoming more and more comfortable in her pony body and she starts to wonder should they fix this?
