Celestia's personal student has a rather strange ability; at least once a week, she dreams of a quiet, somber wood. It has always been a peaceful place for her, a sleeping sanctuary for peace and reflection. Under this moon, however, the peace will be broken, for on this night something else stalks the silent trees with her, and it has a message that only she can deliver.

Twilight and Celestia have been in a relationship for a while now, and Twilight decided that it was the right time to introduce her new marefriend to her parents. Celestia was nervous, of course, but thought little of it.

But when Twilight asks about Celestia's parents, things get far more complicated.

After all, it's always a little awkward when your parents aren't exactly ponies in the first place.

Twilight Sparkle comes across a small, battered diary detailing a new form of transportation. While the research is sloppy and the notes incomplete, Twilight takes it upon herself to see that the ancient project is completed.

Of course, nopony said it would be easy.

The story of King Sombra is not all that it seems. For once, in a different life, Prince Sombra had a dream of shadows...

He was hoof-picked by the higher-ups of Equestria's armed forces to create merely a short guide to one of Equestria's many lethal foes. All he had to do and sit down at his typewriter with the presented information and click away...So why did his back leg hurt so much?

((A oneshot meant to kick off possibly a new universe I had in mind - the Warquestriaverse (Just the working title for now - bear with me!). There will be future stories longer that detail the world and events that come with it. The cover art is a request of mine done by Darth-Craftus. I do hope to work more with him in the future ^^))

Everything dies.

Sometimes sooner than it should, and sometimes not for very long.

When death proves to be a bit more impermanent than it should be, Celestia is left to figure it out.

As well as why the new citizen of her fair land seems so intent on keeping the answers to himself.

Celestia was fully aware of the risks that came with accepting this undertaking. She was fully aware that allowing Chrysalis back into not only Equestria, but into Canterlot, could easily backfire if she wasn't careful. She was aware of the panic that would ensue if word of Chrysalis' presence were to get out into the city, and she was aware that she needed to remain absolutely vigilant if things were to run smoothly.

What she wasn't aware of was that two females spending extended periods of time with each other, even if it was for official business, could be very easily seen as something else.

It likely doesn't help that their actions to follow won't exactly dissuade others from this idea.

It definitely doesn't help that Chrysalis herself is just a bit too happy to 'discuss things' with the princess.

"Diplomatic relations", indeed.

Mort, also known as the Pale Pony (of Death), has been tasked to take time off from his rigorous duties of reaping souls. Seeking guidance, he is directed towards the town of Ponyville, to learn about the magic of friendship from Twilight Sparkle and her friends. All he needs to do is keep his true nature a secret. That shouldn't be too difficult...right?

Not so long ago, Equestria barely defeated two almost unstoppable creatures known as humans, which they called the Second and the First. Almost five years later, another one has shown up. The military takes up arms, the princesses are stricken with fear, and the Elements of Harmony assemble, ready for battle. But 'the Third' has no idea what's going on, and only wants to know how he came to be here, and how to get back home. Good questions indeed...But will he ever get his answers? Or will his predecessors' legacy catch up to him first?
