Tell me something positive that you experienced in the past week. · 10:28pm Feb 6th, 2018

See title.

I could use a pick-me-up, and what better to brighten my day than to hear about how others are doing well?

As for what’s wrong with me, I suspect it’s a general seasonal malaise, so don’t worry about me. I’d rather hear about you guys.

I had my first Reuben Sandwhich for the first time in 3 years!! And Majin Syeekoh wants to hear from his awesome fans!

Well I found out my best friend actually doesn't have cancer after testing so that's nice :3

I dogsat for family, and the pair of dogs were awesome, adorable, and the puppy was extremely excitable.

I got a Polaroid Sun600 LMS for a nice cheap price, paid a hundred bucks for shoveling snow from driveways, and painted a fairly awesome Princess Skystar with no lines and okay shading.

Cheers, Syeekoh! Hoping here you feel better and uplifted!

I had a pizza from my favorite place yesterday

I made cookies on Sunday and they were almost perfect.

I saw a smiley dog. Heard about the dog named Smiley and how he literally looks like he is smiling. Bit bittersweet in the fact that he passed away awhile back, but seeing such a happy pupper cheered me up even if it made me cry a little!

Dude we launched a convertible at Mars.

Monster Hunter: World owns my soul for at least the next few months and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Seems everyone's hit their nadir this month. Hope you and everyone else come out of things okay.

My cat was nice to me today.

MrNumbers asked if I wanted to write an article for his blog and it's been both a point of pride and a very creatively fulfilling project so far.

Also idk, I bought magic cards and played board games which is often my favourite thing to be doing.

I reached Master level on Eternal ranked ladder? Which is pretty damn cool.

I made a sandwich that was okay.

I binged a bunch of stories by Monochromatic.

Been playlist gta5 and being with friends hanging me having fun

today I went to a fast food franchise and the guy running the drive-thru was, instead of being robotic and professional, actually was all chill and silly and cracking jokes. "That'll be four thousand and twenty eight dollars, please." That guy made my day so much better.

I discovered this video.

Got to work from home the last two days, which worked out to little more than a four-day weekend. (Granted, I had the flu, but it wasn't ever really that bad and has only gotten better since Friday.)

I talked to a bunch of people

I took a huge dump while doing a sudoku grid right.

I ordered that game. Looks great and I was really impressed with the MH-version of Shin Godzilla.

Started to workout again after I hurt my knee just before Christmas.

Hmm. I guess it hasn't been more than a week yet... I finished a chapter of my main fic that I haven't worked on in 6 months! I'm currently in the process of revising it, so hopefully I can post the finished version sometime within the next week.

Also I got to go to an arcade on Saturday and play games for like 4 hours, then I bought a new set of dice from my local ttrpg store that are all shiny metallic orange. I just need a silvery-white set and I'll have a set for all four elements. [Orange= fire, blue= water, green= earth, and white will be air]

Rewatched Doctor Who for the 6th or so time. I also supported my first Patreon creator this week.

I cuddled a puppy this morning.

It was 5 months a friend of mine disappeared from here and without giving a message, and I was having the worst season of work at my life, and I prayed to have some friend to talk to me, and my friend who disappeared came back. That made me cry of happiness because I was really messed on that week.

HAHA NERD RAMBLING TIME

So I started playing this game called Shadowverse. It's Magic: The Gathering, lite, for weeaboos. Graphics are fantastic, play mechanics are easy to understand, still has some of the shit I hate about MtG, but whatever.

You play in eight 'classes' that have a different overall mechanic to their deck. I started as the necromancer, who can gain power when her creatures are destroyed. Now I'm playing the super-edgy anime guy (because he's seriously the worst-designed OC ever), and he gets benefits when there are an even number of cards in his deck.

Also, puppets.

I have fine-tuned this guy's deck so that just about every card gives me at least one of these 1/1, 0-cost-to-play, shitty little puppets that go away after a turn. By themselves, they're good for overwhelming the opposing monsters, because they don't suffer from summoning sickness, but they can fight other monsters when they come on the field.

Also, two notes about how the game plays: each 'leader' has 20 HP (I think that's the same as Magic?), and each round you basically get one more 'mana', instead of needing to play lands or anything. So, first round, you have 1, then you get 2 and it fills back up if you used any. Goes up to 10.

So in this game, I'm playing against a guy who uses the "get extra mana for play big dragons" deck, and I'm getting my ass handed to me. I mean, most of the people you play online are probably hardcore weebs who've been playing the game since it came out and dominating via their super waifu powers. I ain't exactly gonna fit in.

I'm holding my own for quite some time, but the other guy's demoralizing me with cards that heal him, so he's back up to 20 and I'm in single digits. Then I draw a 9-mana card. That gives all my Puppets +1 damage and the ability to attack him. Also, I have a monster in play that gives all my Puppets +1 damage when they come out.

I did fucking fifteen damage directly to this motherfucker. It was amazing. :D I proceeded to then be wiped the fuck out, but holy shit, that was a cool-ass way to lose a game, and every time I think about it, I just have to smile a little. :)

Got a job in the field I wanted.

I wouldn't know :B

I've gotten most of my friends hooked on Monster Hunter Worlds, so for the first title in the series I've got more than just my girlfriend to hunt with.

I wrote a story and my classmates wanted to read it and my teacher wanted to know what I was passing out and then he stopped class and we all read it together. The class only has six people in it, and we've known each other for two years now, so it was fun.

Well, today my dad and I went and worked out together at a gym for the first time. Good bonding time.

I know of a guy at a Taco Bell who does that.

I had an incredible tabletop game session with my gaming group and managed to do a really scary scene and make everyone laugh a bunch and shock the heck out of the poor GM.

Just got to watch the Falcon Heavy test flight. Seeing what Space-X can do brings out the little kid in me.

I finished my first Ironman (saves after every action, so no save scumming) run of XCOM2.

AND WATCHED THE FALCON HEAVY LAUNCH LIVE AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Within the last week, I found some David Attenborough DVDs I hadn't watched in a long time. Initially, I was going to put them on in the background while I worked, glancing up occasionally to enjoy the sights.

In fact, I ended up mesmerized by the animals on the screen, and by old Attenborough's excited whisper. If this is what he does for a living, then he must be the luckiest person on the planet. And the best part is that you feel like you're right there with him, watching the animals in all their awe-inspiring variety.

There was a scene in which he learned that sleepy lizards are one of the few lizards who pair-bond for life, and don't leave each other even if one of them dies. It's an odd thing to find in a little reptile that looks like it was made from pine cones, but listen to him talk about them for a while and you can easily sympathize with a researcher who devotes his entire career to them.

I also saw baby chameleons being born, sea snakes that elegantly slither and swim over water, and crocodiles patiently leading their (and others') babies from one drying-up pond to a larger one. But this time, the scene with the sleepy lizards sticks in my mind.

Darn do I wish I hadn't neglected these for so long. To me, a wildlife spectacular like this is the closest thing to pure magic.

I thought of a hilarious fanfic idea.

What if Fluttershy's "sweater puppies" were ACTUALLY puppies?

I've been working on getting off my butt and getting some regular exercise, and it's going pretty well.

Got a brand new gaming laptop.

Um...
I saw your blogpost, and it reminded me of the times I enjoyed goofing off with you on Skype and Discord or at BronyCon.

So . . . some background to this before I say what happened. On January 11th, my roommates and I (we all work at the same job) came home from work to no power. Our job is . . . finicky. It pays very well, but it's inventorying. We mainly do Walmarts, and they typically stop doing inventories right before November, and they don't restart until Mid-February. It might be different elsewhere, but in the Oklahoma-Kansas-Texas district, we typically have three months or so off. We started, luckily, in January doing some Toys-R-Us's and Babies-R-Us's, along with Dillard's, Shopkos, and Ulta's. It's been eventful for January, but on the 11th, the power shut off, and we didn't actually get our power on until we literally moved.

We live in a trailer park. It's lease to own, but the former roommates, a couple, move out suddenly and without saying anything. It was really hard for a while financially as we took funds out our ass to continue attempting to live in an outdated, gross trailer. We couldn't afford to pay for the huge electric bill that they left us, and because of their payment history, attempting to get electric in someone else's name literally costs $420. Plus a $22 instalation fee or whatever.

We couldn't do it and also pay rent, which we already had worked out a payment agreement on. It was originally $721, but we agreed to pay $200 and then the final $521 on the same week that the electric went out. We knew it was coming, but when we paid the rent, we discovered we all were technically occupants. We couldn't receive the credits on the trailer and transfer it over because it wasn't in our name, but we could just get a brand new one.

So we all got together and withstood negative degree temperatures for most of January, using a gas stove for heat. We had a good friend that let us shower and wash our clothes, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. But we had to do this instead of paying for the electric bill, which we could have. We saved our money and used our huge check from all of the stores we did to put $1500 on a new trailer right up the street. Our old trailer was a 1988 moldel, and this one is a 2007 and all elctric, with carpet, so it is a hella upgrade. :pinkiehappy: We moved in on the 2nd, so this is our first week in the new house.

Wow, that was a lot. But seriously, it was the best thing that happened to me in a whole month, let alone this week. I have never enjoyed heat, warm water, and cleanliness ever, and it has been great so far. We all went through hell, and we came out on top. :rainbowdetermined2:

Remember, everyone: even when things seem impossible, bad times are not permanent. Going through bad times can actually allow the good times to be amazing, and it will seem worth it in the end. Don't give up. I almost did; we all did. But . . . here we are.

I thought of a hilarious fanfic idea.

What if Fluttershy's "sweater puppies" were ACTUALLY puppies?

Hopefully this really hadn't posted...

I thought my business was going to owe over $2000 in taxes for last financial quarter (which I had set aside just for), but it turns out that the ATO is actually giving me money because of how much tax I already paid on business purchases. :pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

Also my girlfriend found Work Placement which might lead to a job when it's done. At the very least she will have a Cert III in Retail to show for it.:heart::heart::heart::heart:

Well, I did have a somewhat unpleasant encounter with a customer a few days back that was entertaining in retrospect, but that doesn't seem like the right kind of thing to cheer people up, even if karma did get him for it.

So, instead, the other thing that came to mind - I am currently commissioning someone to do art for me every now and then for a series of characters based on tarot cards (for reasons). For the first time in a while, I had inspiration for a new one and sent a request. The sketch they sent was not quite how I'd imagined, which is good - because it was much cooler and worked better than what I had initially imagined.

And now that I've thought of it, the most recent episode of Dragon Ball Super made me very very happy, for reasons which I can almost explain properly.

This wasn't in the past week but i found this fairly recently:
The greatest rap ever

I conquered the feature box for the first time

If you like tarot, you should say hi to fellow fimficker Crispy Sparrow.

I appreciate the pointer! I don't really believe it's got any power or anything, but it's still an interesting system. I'm mostly interested in it as a source of potential symbolism and/or idea generation for when I get stuck.

1) I found out that the girl I've been flirting with is actually interested in me, and she's coming over to spend some time with me in two-ish weeks.
2) My birthday is only two weeks away
3) I finally ordered my new pair of headphones
4) I finally got my life back in order a bit
5) I get to introduce my best friend into the Kevin Smith masterpiece that is Clerks
6) I finished rearranging my room, and now I have colorful lights everywhere
7) my sister's boyfriend gave me an extra turntable, and another crate of vinyl

That's all I can think of right now.
