Granny Smith has lived a long life, everypony knows that. Thus, it is of little surprise when she learns that her life is soon going to come to an end. But that doesn't make the news any easier to bear for her family.
With the death of Granny Smith now a certainty, the Apple family does their best to prepare for the inevitable. And when the end does come, they all come together to grieve the passing of one of their own.
But for the Apple siblings, Granny Smith's death will hit especially hard. Fortunately, they will have the support of friends and family alike to lean on.

Unfortunately life is like that, and to think that the series ended in 2019, when I met her now.

I've learned a little more about the series now. What I meant to say
Yeah I mean after what we saw in the last problem when we saw Applejack's scarf that belongs to Granny Smith we all knew that she was gone it's pretty sad but I guess like they say not everybody can live forever when the time comes it comes even the most unexpected it's hard and I mean really hard but I'm sure they don't want you to feel sad all the time they want you to live on but they will never be forgotten this was a pretty good story sad one but a very good one keep up the good work
Awww, man. An appropriately emotional one-shot. Definitely liked the work that went into the exchanges, characterizations and general wrap-up. And, yeah, you have a point about how death by old age after a very long life surrounded by loved ones is probably one of the best ways to go if not THE best. And, yeah, nobody lives forever, not even alicorns (though they ARE longer lived than most) though the two that come the closest would be dragons (barring violent death, dragons are strongly implied to have life spans of well over a thousand years AND get stronger with age on top of that) and Discord (he strikes me as the "as long as there is sufficient amounts of chaos" types as far as how long he can live goes - though I could see where outliving those comparatively few that he actually cares about could drive him madder than he already is).
But, anyway, as I said, excellent job on this one-shot. :-C _ _ _ _ _

Thanks for writing this story. A month ago, my paternal grandmother and grandfather passed on. Even though I wasn't that close to my paternal grandfather, For the first 12 years of my life, my paternal grandmother took care of my when my parents were at work.
Good story.
And nice cover art really sets the tone of the story.
