A little disappointed by the lack of Spike. Sure, he wasn’t in the song, but it’s also a crime not to include him.

He’s Twilight’s adoptive brother. Heck, by technicality of his birth, Twilight is his birth mother even if she didn’t produce the egg.

But again, I understand that this was based on the song. If Spike was included, then that last image wouldn’t be as bad for Twily.

Please tell me there’s an afterlife.

Sorry, but I'm not evil. So, no

Beautiful and tragic!

How would saying yes be evil?

hope. if people really believe, then why should they care about the lives of their loved ones and their own?
there will be no reason to be sad about death and stop the deaths of others

I see you don't know many people who actually believe, or pay attention to how they act or what they care about. As I do, I know you are wrong. Don't let cynicism stand in the way of learning.

Yes, I have never met anyone who really believes. cynicism does not stand in the way, but pushes forward. Why am I wrong

Your hypothesis (that belief in an afterlife dulls efforts to save lives and cuts off sympathy for mourners) is directly contradicted by the facts of experience; i.e. the believes I have known do in fact mourn, though admittedly in a different way than those who do not. I am friends with several widowers, who would in fact be quite offended at your statement that their belief in heaven prevents them from mourning that their wives are no longer with them. Nor did their belief in any way lead them to despise the doctors who treated them, or hinder their charitable efforts in that area. Or mine, for that matter, as I donate to medical and starvation relief.

what is the general recognition?
why should they grieve? the man just Moved .
and why do I need this information.
why were they treated ?
I did not say that faith encourages contempt for doctors (at least, Christianity).

because of their faith, they believe that death from starvation is not so terrible. it goes without saying that they would care more if they believed that there would be no paradise after death from starvation

You're basing your entire reasoning on a priori propositions, and not experiences. Death is a tragedy, whether or not one believes there is anything beyond, because it is separation and loss.
And death by starvation is a painful and horrible thing to inflict on a person if one has the power to relieve it. If anything, the knowledge that one's own conscience is eternal is an increased motivation, even leaving aside the doctrinal question over whether one will be judged in the afterlife on how they conducted themselves.

And as to why I think you would need this information... you're making a moral judgment upon people, my friends in fact, in an uninformed manner, condemning them in your mind and holding them in contempt. It stung, frankly, and leads me to worry that I might be lashing out a bit; and I am sorry if I did. You understand, I hope?

11319120
I don’t think that makes sense.

11319340
is a temporary separation (and not quite a loss) already a terrible tragedy? you're being dramatic.

help or facilitate? there is a serious difference. that is, everyone who does not help has an unclean conscience?

Yes, that's it. are you sorry about what? No I didn't understand why

My dude, one of the widowers I'm friends with had the funeral for their wife in this past week. I've been with the others through their grieving for their wives... and for their their children, too. It is borderline offensive to me how dismissive you are being, and if you continue like this I will have to abandon this exchange as simply not worth it. You don't know, and don't seem to be interested in really knowing, how an entire group of people feels about and deals with the death of loved ones.

No Spike?
Everyone going to bed to die?
Unrealistic? Unbelievable? No character? ... Pathetic really.
Crying? Yea, Crying for who ever reads this...:facehoof:

What’s this?

11319120
....
I take it you don't go out often?

Something I've learned from losing many people I've loved.

Everything that lives must one day pass beyond this mortal coil for that is nature's Way. even the sun will one day burn out. Death is the only true constant in the universe.

The key thing you aren’t mentioning is that, if there is no afterlife, death is the end. The pain is over. If there is one, it’s not over and never will be. Afterlife sounds like a horrible place to end up, regardless of what happens there. I’ve never heard of an afterlife where you don’t remember how you died, and it’s gonna be really fresh for the one who just went through it. I really hope there isn’t one, I don’t wanna keep going after death

Hello! I read this recently. A simple story, but you do get a good sense of how much Twilight's friends meant to her. The lack of any Spike is weird, but maybe that's down to the musical inspiration not mentioning him either.
