Digging it deeper. Always deeper.

Well. This definitely has my interest. Incredible, evocative opening. Looking forward to seeing Spike explore this strange new world.

Looking forward to more of this.

The glimpse of the decaying moon was quick, simple, and deeply impactful. Very well done.

The Sepulcher of Generosity was incredible in the layers and variety of horror it presented. Here we see so many more of the consequences of Twilight's refusal to let equinity die. The Xyuka Codex is especially intriguing, in a nightmarish way.

You continue to paint an incredible landscape of devastation and rebirth. Looking forward to more.

I must say, I like what you've got going here so far.

That is not dead which can forever linger, though it's the "forever" part that's proving tricky. We'll see just what's waiting for Spike at that dreaded site.

Also, I just realized we have full context for the cover image. Oh dear.

The crossover, as per the initial request, was with the film "War of the Worlds: Goliath". There was no pre-existing tag for that property, and I am not sure how to create a new one for it.

The crossover aspects become more pronounced by the forth chapter.

This is shaping up to be really interesting. An odd choice for a crossover but I'm excited to see more.

So they've harvested enough human worlds to know historical events, people, and places. Yet somehow they still desperately need more Milk? I wonder how often humankind evolves into the Vandrares seen in your other stories. Is it an inevitable event?

Dang, this sure is some wild worldbuilding. There's much about this setting worth contemplating.

“Moondancer,” he said to the cylinder that had addressed him. Then, to the other, “Trixie.”

I totally buy an Amazon echo if they could change voices to be Moondancer or Trixie.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” she said. “A perfect world. A utopia. A world of fire and rock, lava and smoke as far as the eye can see and as far as the wing can take us. Perfect...for dragons.” Spike looked back at her. She was beautiful, and he supposed he had always known that, but in the same way this world was. In a way he could never truly understand or force himself to believe.

The easiest way to colonize Venus is to make Earth a 2nd Venus.

What the actual heck did I just stumble upon...

And what the actual heck is the crossover? I don't sense any sort of crossover. Not saying that's a bad thing, just curious.

That’s our future selfs' problem.

I do love a good ironic echo.

Fascinating look at awar across space and time, all for the raw stuff of life to fuel a decaying eternity. Horrifiying and wondrous all at once. (Also, nice War of the Worlds crossover. I should’ve known given “the Germ.”)

Sweetie 117’s mechanical pupils narrowed. She pointed to her own head. “We knew her. Better than anypony. So it’s not that hard. We’ll use our combined memories and what genetic material we could recover from the fragments of the remains. We have already mostly rebuilt her. Once we connect the Alicorn, something resembling Applebloom is restored. And every failed attempt survives a little longer.”

For most intents and purposes, it's close enough.

They were among the few who did not feel pain in this world. What they experienced was far, far worse.

It seems quite fine actually so far.

“Yes. This is truth. And death, she is a minor inconvenience. Many died zere, Spike. And I will not be whole again. Not until my war is finished.”

Cemeteries are kind of like retirement homes then.

“For now. Because their world is young. Who knows? In a hundred, a thousand years? We’ve never gone that far forward. They might eventually get smart enough to neutralize all magic in their own universe. Or other universes. Without ever knowing that it was even possible.”

I mean, it would be interesting seeing how a K2 civilization would fare against magic.

All ponies were immortal. Such was the will of Twilight Sparkle.

All she wanted was to keep her friends around. And in so doing, she sowed the stagnation and nightmarish doom of equinity. And yet, the planet would've turned to the Draconic Age with or without her. Twilight truly did save everypony. The question is whether they should have been saved.

The emotions here hit me really, really hard.

Inertia can be a powerful motivator. You've come this far. Why stop now?

Though when you look behind you and see what lies in your wake, well...

Holy shit. I thought the scene with Roseluck was something, and then Spike descended...

This world is wrecked hard ... is there enough milk to restore everyone ... and is there enough alcohol to forget what was done to achieve that? Will see...

Horrific, but artistically so. Hubris and desperation and inevitability all coming together for a heartbreaking conclusion.

I hadn't commented on it before, but I do appreciate the metajoke of a key part of ponies Interacting with human worlds is the Soichet Ring.

In any case, I get the feeling that this will have very far-reaching consequences indeed. Let's see what comes of it.

Horrifying, and yet Starlight is perhaps more so. Comparing her to the rest of equinity, I have to wonder what more she's done to herself and others to preserve herself as she has.

One particular cloud of carbon began to drift, but then suddenly recoiled back upon itself with a thump, reforming itself instantaneously into Starlight Glimmer. The temporary death did not bother her and was not really her concern; it was not the first time she had been Milked, nor would it be the last. The draining of her entire vital force was barely an inconvenience; she had long-since transcended the need for life-force to continue her perpetual survival.

I love your stories on K3 civilization Glimmer.

Damn, what an ending. Slowly, chasing the dream of an everlasting Equestria, Twilight inadvertently became a monster, taking her ponies with her. And Spike crying over what had to be done to his oldest friend for over 1000 years, much like how dragons can sleep for that long? Heavy. I almost want a time-lapse gif of that scene. The whole Starlight plotline sort-of amounted to nothing, and I probably would have cut it, but other than that? This was a phenomenal tragedy.

Spike's greatest duty has always been to stop Twilight before, during, or after a dive off the deep end. That burden is why he's her number-one assistant.

Outstanding work throughout. Thank you for it.

sooo...earth is dead, and what's left of equestria is ruled over by dragons.

not a particularly bad fate.
