We all make choices. Decisions that are often thrust upon us by circumstance more often than personal desire. For Orion, his choices will lead him through the veil of our world and into the wonder of another.

Thanks for yet another awesome chapter!
So the battle is finally over and while no one from Shining's group died. Storming losing an arm is still pretty bad. Is Shining going to pull Gerhard aside and force him to stop giving him the runaround or will Celestia directly contact the king and threaten him with serious reprisals if he continues to keep her from finding Orion?

The Lieutenant trying to command a foreign Prince to demand that he tells him where Orion is? An outside military force that has absolutely no reason to be that deep in Griffon lands with their only 'reason' for being there is to get back a single colt who said that he was going abroad for vacation? Shining has to delicately dance through this situation cause the Prince can easily go 'yeah you worked for me a bit and fought in my battles, but you could just be a spy for these bandits and whoever hired them so yeah I am just gonna arrest/execute you lot and be done with this farce.'
Celestia never sent word to the King that she sent a squad of her royal guard to retrieve a single child in his lands, and for all intents and purposes the King can easily go 'Hey, you sent spies/assassins into my lands, either pull em out or I can kill them for espionage and send you their heads.'
And what more can Celestia do to the Griffonlands that already hasn't been done by either her or those within those lands?
Really hope that Orion finishes up his business and makes it back to Equestria without getting caught by Shining in this remake.
Thank you for the shining pov

Shining may be officially just a Lieutenant but considering he's dating a princess and his sister is the personal student of a demigod. He could already be considered part of Equestria's Royal family in some circles. Add to the fact that one of the soldiers under his command is now possibly crippled for life in a battle that could've been avoided if Bloodbeak had just told him where Orion was staying. He could possibly say that Gerhard owes Storming and by extension Equestria itself restitution for her injury.
As for Celestia, she's a chess master through and through. I have no problem seeing her somehow convincing all the other kingdoms that the Griffons are purposefully hindering her search for a "runaway colt" out of petty jealousy or something along those lines. She could even possibly find a way to make the other kingdoms suspect that the bandits that attacked her soldiers were in fact Griffon soldiers in disguise.
If she's successful, Celestia would deal a severe blow to the Griffons public image. Which would result in the other kingdoms being extremely hesitant to do business with them and further hurting their economy despite Orion's recent efforts in helping them.
Speaking of Orion, I also hope that he makes it back to Equestria without getting caught. Just so we can see both Shining and Spitfire's reaction when they learn he's back home.

What about the Minotaur's. Aren't they making their way to the land of the griffins. We already know they hold plenty of animosity toward pony kind and have actively taken steps to subvert Equestrian influence. They also seem to be more than willing to casually kill ponies of significant authority.
Celestia would be very hard pressed to make any sudden moves against the griffin kingdom. Things are going to get hectic pretty soon, and Orion might end up being the catalyst to light the fuse on this political powder keg.
Blurring Reality story finaly added to RGRE section
Thanks for the update!
This is one of the few stories where the 'longer' side-tracking arcs, in other words, sets of chapters not regarding the main MC, not only NOT kill the story, but make it better. Awesome chapter, and I am eager to see how this story continues.

It makes me giggle anytime people remember that. Better, later on Orion is going to learn a out Utah's fate too.
One thing that never seems to make much sense regarding stories with ancient yet advanced civilizations: natural resources. Mined-out ores and minerals don't just regrow, y'know?

I actually have an answer for this one. But I'll let the story speak for itself.

I also had a similar thought about steel as well for fics that focus on it to some degree. It seems likely that they'd end up creating shit versions by mistake, such as cast and pig iron, considering how carbon tends to get fuckin everywhere when smelting w/ charcoal lol. It wouldn't take much experimentation from there, even if one had no clue what they were doing, probably like how early blacksmiths passed knowledge from one apprentice to another.
Ofc with the lore explanation, or at least what I think it is/remember, The church would need a wayy better information network to cut off any expirment(ers) at the head, or just fuck them over so royally that it'd never be realized widely/mass produced, which I think mightve likely happened... or maybe I missed something somewhere
I miss that colt. I feel like we havn't seen him in eons.
...Yes, I know I'm being dramatic. It's only been a few chapters. XP
DUDE. THAT WAS A VALUABLE PRISONER YOU JUST KILLED.
Oh... I see.

That is the sum of it, though I haven't gone into detail how it was done yet.
Fucking Nazis.
