Oh believe me I know. The reason why I stalled is because as I was writing I began to realize it wasn't lining up, I had accidentally wrote in things that actually didn't happen but ended up making sense. So I'm am retconning the hell out of the story so it actually makes sense.
Plus the timeline was a little too crushed to me. This is me not wanting to get too far ahead before the mistakes become overwhelming.

God damn do I hate that bitch of a mare Backwater. Her attitude in this chapter alone now has me hoping that her death is even more painful then it was in the original version.

It's just with the new story replacing the old I don't see the point. Part of the reason I didn't just do major edits with the old one was because I wanted this new work to stand on its own. Seems a cheap way to farm already pre-established likes imo.

Mostly it's a timeline pacing. Too much too tight, and my courage to actually write more indepth scenes. I like to think I've gotten better, so I am trying to better the story to my current writing standard.

I can understand your reasoning, but I would argue that its better to leave it up. It’s not as bad as you make it out to be; and its a source of extra info for us readers. I noticed that a number of details in the previous version of the story aren’t present here; how much of the old story (included the less details) is still cannon?
Also, twenty four guards for one child? Geeze, Blackwater is scared or she’s on a power trip. Either way, I feel like covering her in petrol and light up a match.

I have yet to delete anything. I'm on the fence about deleting the original work, this story that is being rewritten now. Some people are fine with it, but there is a loud group that want me to keep the old book around for some reason.
