The story has a realistic feeling and could use a Sad tag. (Still +1 even without it.)
Other fics in this category often lacks realism and ends up reading as a joke (at least for me, even though the writers didn't intend it) but this one can't be shrugged off like that, so reader's discretion is highly recommended.
Edit addition: That you created such a logical explanation to canon Fluttershy's fear of the holiday, helps make it so realistic. It's not like a Headless-fic you can read and laugh at the absurdities. So well done!

I get folks writing noncon as fap fodder - I'm hardly innocent of that myself - but something like this,the story is more about the character's underlying trauma rather than the smut.
All through the series, Fluttershy gave off the vibes of a pony who had a reason behind her reactions. Seeing her out on Nightmare Night, terrified of being attacked while surrounded by her closest friends? That cemented that the reason hadto be connected, for me.
Great characterization on Twilight at the start! I could feel the judgement in her thoughts.

Oh, absolutely. But that's looking at it fully rationally - if you told her that, she'd probably say that she knows, but that doesn't stop her heart from racing and adrenaline from spiking at every unexpected sound.
Trauma, sadly, doesn't necessarily play nice with logic.
But therapy would definitely help her. That's been pretty obvious since S1, frankly.
