One of those things is part of the AU, the other may or may not have been established in the prequel but is honestly the only way most people can hope to write her. (While I'll be retconning some or other bits about her return to Zebrica, I'm keeping the part where she has good reasons to stay there and does so for similar reasons)

Ah, I didn’t realize. The downsides of being lazy...
The author of the prior fic had a rather hard time writing zecoras rhythmic speech patterns, so we went with the idea of him dropping said speech patters when around certain people. it is not laziness, just a type of workaround. I was the one who commissioned this story as well as Stripes & Skin, and it was the best idea that we could come up with in terms of Zecoras speech patterns.
I just want to comment how handsome the thumbnail is..
