I think the reason dumb ideas work in a horror game is because you literally pay to do the thing no sane person would do. Seeing a character who has the option to haul ass and doesn't is just frustrating, but a player signed an agreement, allowing both the benefits of participation and a degree of separation from the plotholes.

I'm in definite agreement with all that! Always trying to work more psychology into my work, but I've kept a silly edge too. Always thought maybe I should do a more serious dark piece someday but I'm not sure how receptive my audience would be; many seem to prefer my lighter fare, but I tend to be more invested in the works that let me go nuts with crazy scenarios.

look, if we were to assume that the wars were at the same, if not greater level, of ww2, then I think the reconstruction period would've lasted around two decades, which is what actually occurred, and since we're still partway through reconstruction, I think this is 10 years into the future.
thus a newborn would now be in their 20s and Flurry would be in her 10s, though she'd probably have her age rapidly increased already at this moment

humans had higher technology, and it'd be easier to rebuild using technology. remember, most of the ponies are busy with controlling the sun and moon, so yeah, I think since the beginning of Shining Force 1 to Shining Force 2 we've jumped 20 years.

Ah. So this is interesting. Already knew that Wet Nurse/Foal Bearer, whatever she prefers, had gone insane and become a villain, the Sunset twist will be interesting as well as the BonBon twist. Flurry Heart 2.0 is as interesting as Flurry Heart would've been if she had been alive. Poor Flurry Heart. Cadence should've taken a chance, a slim chance, to save Flurry Heart at least, but I understand and accept her decision to give both of them a clean death.
