Ahh, but you're missing an important point. I hate Starlight. Utterly. Also, I haven't seen any of season 8, and I'm still missing some of 7. But still. Hate Starlight. So much. I could rant about her for hours. I have.
Such a riveting take on immortal Twilight. :|
A good follow-up to this could be Celestial rushing to her student to try and stop it, only to find a rapidly aging Twilight waiting for her with two copies of the 'counter curse' prepared for the remaining two Princesses.
Or this is Luna performing a rather savage yank the leash performance as she alone can see Twilight's nightmares about her possible future self and this is just a kick to the ponut to get Celestial to stop trying to stay out of the way and instead be there FOR THEIR FRIEND.
Yeah. It is very hard to be immortal. The finale certainly looked like Twilight could outlive her friends, but I had my own theory on how she could escape that. This is why I wrote my story Passing On Together where she gives up her immortality and passes the torch onto a new Princess. Good story.
