FourShadow

"... okay, I have another plan!"

E

Its 1958, the end of a Friday afternoon. The end of the school week has come, and every student at Canterlot High School has the weekend to do what they want. So how are they going to start it off?

By going to a diner of course!

Captured the fifties perfectly Four.

SO AWESOME!!!!

Kinda like my 'Typical 80s life' story!

Nice. Just nice. Glad to read a simple, slice of life fic, specially when it's set on the 50's.

Fantastic work with this one-shot. I really enjoyed the 50s references in it - and as soon as Pinkie mentioned the monster movie they could see had Steve McQueen in it, I knew what the punchline was going to be :rainbowlaugh:

"--Do you young boys and girls want progress? Then re-elect Mayor Mare! Progress is her name! Re-electing her means more jobs, better education, equality, less taxation, and more progress!"

Hey, politics! :trollestia: :raritywink:

"Its got Steve McQueen in it..." Pinkie batted her eyelashes.

Sunset dropped her spoon that she was twirling in her fingers.

"Steve McQueen?"

Pinkie nodded enthusastically.

"I'm in!" Sunset smiled.

The Blob was actually McQueen's first leading role, so unless Sunset got a thing for him in one of his obscure acting jobs such as Never Love a Stranger which came out just a few months before, she likely wouldn't know who that even was.

To be honest, that first part was more of a reference to Back To The Future on my part. :twilightblush:

And I picked him because he was the guy I remembered most in acting-wise in the 50s.

I hope you enjoyed it, somewhat?

Yeah, it was a nice slice of life period piece.

Oh, okay, good. Glad you liked it. :twilightsheepish::twilightsmile:

This was a fun slice of life story to read

Such a great story. "BttF" references were a nice touch; it's my favorite sci-fi film series (number one most of all.) You should make a whole chaptered story about this universe. Maybe with Twilight coming to CHS and how the girls and their peers react to changes in this year (like with the Red Scare, the Space Race, Elvis Presley, etc.) and others. I really think it would be an awesomely cool story idea. :pinkiehappy:

She most likely saw him in that and was smitten at first glance :rainbowlaugh:.

Waiting for Marty Mcfly to suddenly show up and see that one of them is his mother. Actually that's a good story idea, some one needs to write that.

I hope you liked it? :twilightsheepish:

I did; I just thought I’d add the song.

Yeah personally I would've gone with Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart or Humphrey Bogart.

Too young to understand sorry.

Golden age of American families, car design and movies that cared about character development not political view points or diversity (mostly).

8819736
Well, Jimmy Stewart or Cary Grant anyway. By 1958, Humphrey Bogart had been dead for a year or two.

Hello there. I have to say, this one-shot does a great job depicting the late-50s and the exchanges and characterizations were all very good. :-D

CSC

It came out pretty good.

Daddy-oh you need the right music.

This is the music that gits the mood

So glad you put an "Incomplete" on it. That means it's now a multichaptered story :pinkiehappy:. This is my favorite one-shot of yours. I can't wait to see the rest. Please get the next chapter up as soon as you can (take some time, though; can't rush genius :raritywink:).

Was “The Blob” one of the scarier movies in the fifties? That would explain the ending.

Not that I don't appreciate the comments, but you don't need to repeat them :twilightblush:
