That's the warning Twilight Sparkle read learned of Nightmare Moon coming back. But when she confronts her at Town Hall, Nightmare Moon kidnaps her instead.
Spike and a group of mismatched ponies make their way through the Everfree Forest, hoping to defeat Nightmare moon and save Twilight!
Alternate universe where Twilight is kidnapped by Nightmare Moon and a different group of six becomes the Elements of Harmony.

I have to say, this WAS a pretty entertaining one-shot. Good point on the language in the author's notes, and the action, emotional content and wrap-up were well done in the right areas. Definitely reminds me, in a good way, of "the Goonies" (bunch of kids on a big, high-stakes adventure). The character development as the kids worked to save the day was downright superb.

This was a pretty fun alternative spin on the original story. Though the cursing did throw me off at times. Regardless It be cool if someone continued this storyline through threat of the possible Season events. It could interesting seeing Spike with such focus and responsibility thrust upon him and the rest of the children. Especially with their conflicting views and peers.
So much for the Tree of Harmony having Twilight's cutie mark.
Also good luck beating Discord; the canon Twilight only won because he overlooked Spike, and his dragonfire postal services - something the draconequus likely wouldn't do if the dragon were his opponent.
Well, thanks a lot. Now I need to know what happens next, and there's no more chapters to tell me.
