3695804 Thank you! And trust me, I have been thinking about this too, which is why I wrote it. This story is a reality I really do not want to happen. Usually I like to think that Alicorns like Twilight (ones who were earned their Alicorn status and were some other type of pony at birth, or "Crafted Alicorns" as I refer to them in my other fic) are not immortal, but I switched that for this story because it began writing itself in my mind.
