ASGeek2012

Late-blooming fan with way too many story ideas in his head. Have written before, but this is my first serious foray into the world of fan-fiction.

Agreeing to help Twilight Sparkle find the Elements of Harmony to end Nightmare Moon's reign had been hard enough a decision for Applejack to make. Now she had an even harder task ahead of her: telling her family what she was about to do.

Wow! Love it! Excellent bit of development on the side of our dear ol' Applehorse, filling in the niggling details quite succinctly! Definitely enjoyed the ride! Thanks for an awesome read, ASGeek!

I have to say that this story made me cry a little...:fluttercry:
Anyways,the story was really amazing.Have a like and a follow AND a fav!!!

Thank you very much! I got the idea when I recalled how in the show they simply cut from from the library to the Everfree Forest, but I figured realistically they'd take time to actually get there, and a few ponies might want to settle their affairs just in case.

It was actually a bit emotional to write as well. I lost my father unexpectedly a few years ago, so I drew a bit on the emotions stirred up by that.

Thank you!

...wow this is an interesting concept. Very intriguing. You've earned the like from me for this!

I kind of want Rarity to do the same with Sweetie and her parents, Fluttershy and her pets...and an afterstory when they come back because this was a good story.

I might indeed do something like that if I get inspired for a good plot element to build a story around. Please Don't Go was stuck for a bit in development until I came up with the idea of centering part of it around the departed parents.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it!

I feel you.I lost my dad when I was three from cancer, and my grandpa 2 years ago from a heart attack(now I'm 13) and that's why I become very emotional to the subject.
I really hope to see more from you but please....something happier?:twilightsheepish:

Yeah, I didn't necessarily set out to write just sad stories, it was just where my initial inspiration took me. I have some longer stories that I'm trying to flesh out that have more of an adventure theme.

Looking forward to read them:pinkiehappy:

The show really does need to make an episode that explains exactly why six ordinary mares who had lived ordinary lives up until the events of the pilot episode are perfectly wiling to go out and risk their lives on a regular bases in the service of their kingdom.

This is an nice "filler" fanfic. That part in the pilot episode was really rushed, and looking back on it, you do wonder why the other five went into the super-scary forest for some pony they just met the day before. This story helps explain AJ's reasoning.

Thanks for the comments on the story

I liked the idea of "filling in the blanks" so to speak. We always see the Mane Six charging off to save the day but never think about what might have led up to that moment. Not everyone is able to flip their courage on like a light switch.

This fills a small void in the first season 1 episodes that I hadn't known was there. Unfortunately, now I want to know how Granny Smith took Applejack coming home as a bearer of an Element of Harmony and a national hero...

Thanks for the comment  When I initially started writing MLP fan-fics, this was the type of theme I tended to think of at the time.
