A new year has begun at Chantalot Academy for Gifted Mages and Sunset Shimmer is looking forward to it; seeing her friends, making new ones, and just trying to get through the problems that come with high school. But when a school myth begins to resurface as more than just a legend, Sunset refuses to sit on the sidelines. Luckily, she won't be alone.
A reboot of the Mages of Etheria series. Tags will be added as the series progresses.

EDIT2 (Posting before I finished reading might not have been a good idea.): Zecora's original rhyme structure in nature studies should have been fauna and flora not flora and fauna. It would work better too since as that is not the normal order of saying it the whole rhyming theme would be better established in the reader's mind.

They're just easily beating every canon character and one was able to easily match Dash in speed.... I like the story and all- god I love stories like this, but I'm just sayin' is all.
7254768 They won't. Trixie and BB are strong, but too arrogant, IMO. As for Loli, she can't. She's fast, but not as fast as Dash. She can stay right behind and she's got good bursts, but she can't maintain Dash's speed for as long, let alone beat her in a race. And BB is more or less blinded by rage in his fight. That plus Dawn's affinity put him at an advantage (also, I mentioned BB isn't that great a mage or warrior). But don't worry. I've had OPOC problems in the past and I intend to avoid them here. I only ask for you to be a bit patient with me.

Is this the first year for the main six/seven at this magic school? Did they come from "Canterlot High" and if so was there no Principal Celestia!? I saw mention of the sirens and of Sunset's past. Is Equestria a thing? Was Princess Twilight's crown stolen? How was Sunset defeated? Don't get me wrong, I am by no means complaining or hating. I'm rather interested in this mix of RWBY, EQG, and Smilingdogz. I'm just the kind of guy that likes knowing stuff.
7578414 The events of EQG and FiM are intertwined and took place at the same time in the same universe. This is more or less the the equivalent of their 2nd year of high school (Sophomore). Instead of Sunset coming from another dimension, she just returned from her journey around Etheria (Equestria) in search of power. Princess Celestia doubles as the principal and CMA is Canterlot high in this universe. Here, Etheria is Equestria. Yes, Twi's crown was stolen and Sunset was defeated in the same way: the EoH Rainbow Power (since at this time, the gems were used to unlock the chest granting them Rainbow Forms).
