It's been almost eleven months since Dash and Blitz almost died in Ponyville's worst blizzard, and now the two pegasi are anticipating the upcoming birth of their foal. But when Dashie goes into labour, Blitz not only has his patience tested, but also discovers that one of his closest friends is harbouring a shocking secret...

THERE WILL BE NO SEQUEL. I'm sorry to say that I want to keep working on the Foals of Harmony - the first two stories of which (Equestrian Rhapsody and The One Free Stallion) are already posted. However, I would LOVE it if someone could adapt Rainbow's Lament and Aurora Spectralis into comic form. I never expected this to get so much love!

Both situations are absolutely adorable, and I approve.
As for everyone else in the story it seems like everyone took the phase "Go Fuck Yourself" too seriously. Regardless this fic is really good and even with the odd subject matter it's still very well written and D'awww.

The only thing that let me down however was the name - very out of character for him to first know both the words and the meaning of them. Also, it sounds like a bad OC name and it doesn't fit into the shows naming style.
So will we get a Raspberry Wiggle from the poofy-haired partiers, and a Midnight Twinkle from the straight-maned studiers?
Really loved this follow up story on these two. Like that all of them are going through the same thing. Seems like there baby is just a super version of the two of them. Great!

In a way they are kinda ARE SIBLINGS. They do indeed share the same parent's or else none of them would exist to begin with. Sure there may be some different things about them but that does not change the fact that they are still the same pony, just different.

620585 As it was stated, it means "rainbow of light" which is actually a callback to the earlier generations of My Little Pony. I ran through several interpretations of it in my head, but Aurora Spectralis just seemed to work the best.
It doesn't actually translate into anything - I just made it up - and I know it doesn't really fit into the naming style, but Rainbow Light just doesn't have the right ring to it. Plus any Death Note fans might get the wrong ideas.

Anything with "Rainbow" in it is generally a bad idea. A powerful one word name would fit better in my opinion. "Spectrum" for example.

Pinkamena Diane Pie was used as a very strict name, and therefore fitting in with the rock farm, inspired by amish society.
Aurora Spectralis as a name for a child of two unsophisticated speedsters doesn't make that kind of sense.
But it is true, simply "Aurora" would have worked tons better.

Just read this and "Rainbow's Lament."
I had sincerely believed that my useless, fragile, and inconvenient piece of muscle called a heart had withered and died centuries ago.
Apparently not. And when your heart restarts after 600 years, it is both unexpected and painful.
Both great, adorably happy stories. Sad that there will not be any sequels (yet).
Also, at the end of "Rainbow's Lament," either Dusk or Twilight said that they found a way to return to their own dimension, but in this story, they apparently have not. I would assume this means that they decided to stick around? I love the idea of Equestria and Genderswap-Equestria connecting, allowing all the characters to meet their other versions.
Anyway, two great stories. I would love to see more (even if it will probably not happen).
First of all, great story. The part where Blitz meets his daughter for the first time was the second closest thing to ever make me cry. (the first being David Tennant's last episode in Doctor Who)
But with the topic of your alternative self, here are my thoughts:
1) It seems that you will most likely fall in love with your(other)self as they are, depending on degree of variation within the possible alternative dimensions, yourself with the same thoughts, feelings, and opinions. There for, a perfect match. So, it would only seem logical that Blitz would fall in love with Dash.
2) Since the only difference, genetically speaking, between you and your genderbent self is gender, then the chances of the offspring posessing negative traits rises. If my high school biology serves me right, then if the same person then negative resessive traits have a higher chance of showing. Same reason two siblings should not bang eachother, just on a greater scale.
3) Technically speaking, it would not be masturbation or 'selfcest', just a form of incest. As in this case, Blitz and Dash are two distinct entities, who have similar DNA, thus making it incest.
