Chronicler06

Anything can be awesome when it's made of Lego.

E

(Takes place between LEGO Equestria Girls and LEGO Equestria Girls 2.)

After Princess Twilight Sparkle of Equestria returns to her home world, life in the Lego World seems to have returned to normal. As time goes on, the friends she made in this other world start to notice some lingering effects from her brief visit.

Summaries of each short story:
Pick-Up Bricks: Top engineer Rusty Wrench is called in to remove the crashed spaceship that Twilight's team had abandoned in an apple orchard, but this cleanup job proves to be more difficult than expected.
Mid-Air Repair: When an incoming airplane suffers some crippling damage, Rainbow Dash decides to rebuild an old favorite and fly to the rescue.
Build That Barn: After the Creative Mark Crusaders accidentally cause yet another disaster, Applejack decides to take the opportunity to make some improvements to the old barn.
A Creative Party: Pinkie Pie accidentally ruins a party she had planned herself, but is quickly able to salvage it with a little creativity.
An Improvised Rescue: While on a peaceful walk through the woods, Fluttershy discovers a puppy in danger and manages to get creative with limited resources to save it.
Fabulous Architecture: When the repairs to the local museum turn out to be very disappointing, Rarity takes it upon herself to make a serious effort to improve on the design.
Among Friends: All five of Twilight's Lego friends get together to discuss some of the unusual recent events and what it all means for them, not only as a team, but also as friends.

Well, this was amusingly fun. Noticed a couple of errors, though.

"...checking the gages?"

Gauges

...when it slipped loosed from the claw

loose

That's all I saw, but they stuck out.

What does Lego Granny Smith have against aliens? :rainbowlaugh:

5335462 Thanks for pointing those out, and I've already made those corrections. I always try my best when it comes to editing, but I guess a few things tend to slip by every now and then.:twilightblush: But hey, as long as you keep replying to new updates this quickly, I can deal with minor problems like this just as quickly.

5335906 Since Lego is known for its quirky humor, I decided to make a few running gags throughout this series (not just these short stories, but everything under the name LEGO Equestria Girls). Another example you may have noticed is that I gave Rusty Wrench a catchphrase: "Ouchy".

5336506
As long as I'm on when it goes up, I will.

Only one error I noticed.

The inside this hangar

Based on the rest of the sentence, "The inside of this hangar"

Overall, very intriguing and enjoyable. Also, love how the Magic of Friendship is now expressed through the creativity of construction, which is so central to Lego World.

“You were flying over Dinosaur Island, weren’t you?”
The pilot failed to relax his nervousness as he replied, “It, uh, seemed like a good way to save time and fuel.”
Rainbow Dash sighed and facepalmed.

Where did this pilot get his license? :facehoof:

5338324 Thanks again, and I've once again just made that correction. Hopefully, this won't have to be done for every chapter. Anyway, yes, that seemed to me like such a natural way for such magic to be expressed in a world made of Lego. Expect to see more of it, not just with the others in the next four chapters, but also throughout the upcoming sequel.

Nice!
By the way, I posted a comment on your profile asking a question about this story sequence, but I never got an answer.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NO THIS STORY!!!!!!!

It's the attack of the proofreader!

That ol' pull rope now leads this this here winch...

That first this should be 'to'

...the alterations vanished, retuning her appearance...

dropped an 'r' there.

An enjoyable read, and I like the concept of a 'Creative Mark'. And the reason they would advertise their Mark is as a sort of on person resume?

Though I'm beginning to think Scootaloo's special talent is going to turn out to be 'Summoning Murphy'.

“What could possibly go wrong?”

As the old saying goes "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong."

5341419 Good thing I'm enough of a perfectionist to welcome proofreaders with open arms. Anyway, I had always found it rather odd how the Equestria Girls equivalent of a cutie mark was never explained, so I wanted to give those things in this Lego World an actual purpose aside from just being there. Calling them creative marks seemed like a natural choice for this kind of world, and the rest of my idea for the concept went from there (and as an added bonus, those three girls still get to keep the acronym CMC).

Well, I have to say, that was quite amusing.

Also, I spotted no errors. Congrats on that!

I like the explanation for where baby Lego people come from, as well as how Creative Marks are connected to maturity. Does that mean that adult bodies have the Creative Mark on it as part of the design?

Although this does raise two questions I have regarding Lego people.

1. Where does food come from, what is it made of, and why do they need it?
2. Does this mean Lego people don't have sex or an equivalent thereof?

5345613 I don't know, and quite frankly I don't care.

5345992
I was asking the author, because I would like the answer.

5345613 Creative marks work the same way as cutie marks, so you could expect to see some kids with them. The primary difference is that the Lego version is not on permanent display like the pony version. For the first question, there's clearly a few certain Lego pieces that are obviously meant to be food (apples, carrots, sausages, ice cream, and more), so to me it seems rather obvious that Lego people eat and drink like we do. (Also, the occasional potty humor indicates that the other end of the system exists as well.) For the second question, the concept of sex has never been even hinted at in any official Lego media (for very obvious reasons), and I simply decided to reflect that in this Lego World, which inevitably meant that I had to come up with an alternate way to explain how people are created. (And like I said, that minor remark ("build some kids") in the Clutch Powers movie was all I needed.)

5346591
Alright. Now for oddest question.

If Lego people have no equivalent to sex, why do they have physical attraction?

And on a different note, how do you make food out of food-legos? For example, how do you take an egg lego, apple lego, milk carton lego, and bag of flour lego and turn them into an apple pie lego?

This was adorable, and without mistakes...except in the author's note, lol!

It so fits Fluttershy that she forgot she incorporated her cart into the construction until after she couldn't find it.

5348654 Sometimes, when you do things spur of the moment, you don't always remember what you did during that time afterwards.

5348654 I read through the note again and I honestly couldn't see anything wrong with it, so I'll just leave it as it is.
Also, sorry for not answering your follow-up questions from yesterday, but I just don't have time to comment more than once per day. And my honest answer to those follow-ups is... :facehoof:At this point, I'm willing to simply throw my arms up and say, "Just call it Lego logic." The closest I can give you to a specific answer is to watch the beginning of the Lego Movie and see how Emmet gets ready in the morning, doing things like putting on clothes and making himself a quick breakfast. Even though this fanfic series is meant to be more like the Clutch Powers type of Lego World, there are still some details that are inspired by the Lego Movie. Put simply, my final answer is this: Use your imagination. It's Lego!

5349534
So your answer is "logic that the LEGO continuity implies but never explains, and is thus open to individual interpretation"?

Alright. I can accept that, and it is a valid answer. These are just questions that I think Twilight would ask as she explores more of the LEGO world when she returns, so they are probably questions you should think about for the sequel just so you can come up with how the characters might answer when Twilight asks.

So, who's left? Sunset Shimmer, or Flash Sentry?

Well, I have to say that was quite enjoyable. Didn't spot any errors, either.

5352280 Neither, actually. As I had mentioned in a previous author's note, the five middle stories don't have to be read in any particular order. What I meant by this is that the final story takes place after all of the others. You'll see why, when I get it up tomorrow.

Wait, you mean we don't get to see Celestia Playwell's reaction to this news? Aww!

5355788 Guess that's going to have to wait till the sequel.

5355788 5355932 Actually, I had no plans of writing such a scene. A bit more time will pass between this final short story and the beginning of the sequel. I guess with all the answers and new questions, it didn't really seem necessary for me to include a scene that, to be honest, really doesn't matter that much. (Besides, I really wanted the final part of the final short story to focus on that mystery person in an astronaut suit.)

:ajsleepy:This has been a very long week for me, but I'm very glad that I'm finally all done with this. After an experience like this, I don't think I'll ever try to work with such a tight schedule ever again. I'll definitely be more than happy to return to a similar routine as I had with the first story, with just one chapter every two weeks (though I may need to reconsider which day of the week that will be). But that'll be once I actually start writing the sequel. For now, I'd like to take a little break for the rest of the month.

5356627
Well, here's happily waiting for the sequel.

A lego story? That's something I never expected to see. Reading it now.

Scootaloo dismissively waved her hand and excitedly replied, “C’mon! I’m about to break a land speed record by attaching a couple of rockets to my scooter!” She gestured down at her scooter, to which she had just attached a pair of cylindrical pieces, which had translucent orange round pieces attached to their back ends. “What could possibly go wrong?”

I remember being like that, young and dunb
