Sombra having created the Alicorn Amulet is something that works very well in fanfiction. There certainly isn't enough known about it or Sombra's pre-banishment activities to dispute the idea, and it really does seem like the sort of thing he could and would have done, possibly discarding or losing it because of the mental effects making the wearer too unstable to be reliably used as a pawn.
No surprise about Sunset Shimmer, either, though you certainly intrigued me with her having a 'passenger' with her.
