Unknown to most of Equestria, the ponies with wings of leather and teeth of knives still thrive in the shadows.
The vampire -or bat- ponies live in the far side of Equestria, away from the places were the Earth, Unicorn, and Pegasi Ponies have settled, making it almost impossible to have any contact between the four types. But that's what the vampire ponies wanted. No Contact.
It is a common ritual for a young pony to travel to the Everfree Forest and collect Five Sacred Items. First; The Plant of Blue that Plays You For A Fool. Second; A Strand of Hair From Magic Itself. Third; Potion of Pink To Open Your Eyes. Fourth; Flower of Desire that Comes From the Heart. Fifth; A Single Seed From the Infinite Night.
Comet Blaze is a lonely little filly. Abandoned at birth, she grew up without a family. All her peers either ignored her or bullied her. To add even more to that, she still didn't have her cutie mark, and she still wasn't able to fly. After the last Journey that was taken a little under a decade before, it was time for the prince, Blood Dusk, to choose the little pony to take the Journey. Unfortunately, the little filly of ash and blood was chosen. Comet Blaze was going to have a journey ahead of her.
But what could really happen in her quest to the Everfree Forest?
I'm honestly more eager to see how the quest ends than getting the items, the only one I have no idea about is the Potion of Pink.
I wonder how long it will take somepony to realize just whose hair Comet Blaze needs
All Comet Blaze needs to do is raid Twilight's favorite brush or check the bathroom for some lost hairs. I loved her interacting with the Crusaders and trying to help them start on the right path to their talents, well done!
Finally someone got it. I hope the Crusaders come for the rest of the items, it it always fun to picture them ending up in a pile with Comet Blaze and all four giggling, makes the feels grow. The Potion of Pink confuses me, but if it involves a potion then go to Zecora, who can also give item number 4, Heart's Desire. Though she might be out and the flower isn't blooming at the moment... so Comet Blaze would have to stay in Ponville longer...

4575831 I know, finally! I think the crusaders will probably pop up every once in a while... And the Potion of Pink. I made a mistake, that I'm not changing because of already made ideas, the potion is actually supposed to be purple, not pink. When I made this, I thought the potion was pink, so in this story, we are going to pretend that it really was pink. And this probably just gave it away, but shh!

Yeah, the luck of getting two items at once means that something BAD is going to happen now. I can totally see Discord messing with Comet Blaze, but if that happens I hope Zecora or Twilight smacks him around.
Will Twilight be badass in this story?
Discord seems perfectly in character, but my favorite part was when Comet Blaze bluntly answered "Yes" to his asking if she was going to revive the dead
I can't wait to see Comet Blaze track down the last item she needs! But can she get a few chapters spending time with the Crusaders first???

Oh, and I guess I want to add that, now that this story has progressed this far, I came up with something better for the fifth item. So, from here on out, (or at least after I go through the story and change it) the fifth item is now different.
Is this an orphan Scootaloo fic??? If so I hope she gets a home soon. I like you changing the last item to a star, very nice since we get to see Luna help Comet Blaze. I can't wait to see how all five items are used. My one worry is that Comet Blaze will be replaced by Luna and Celestia's aunt when she's barely gotten to live for such a short time, I'd rather see her slowly absorb memories and abilities as she grows up.

And Twilight SHOOK HER!!! Good lord, that is not how you treat a filly who has just recovered from passing out for unexplained reasons. I'd say all the adults at the end of the chapter were out of character. Yes, they can be angry the fillies went into the Everfree... but shouldn't their first priority be making sure Comet Blaze is alright???
4689465 I guess, her words should've been "Are you okay?" And maybe when she was 'asleep' Twilight could've used magic to see if anything was 'wrong".... I don't know... But I think twilight really just started to answer her question and hope to get the answers she was wanting...
I say have Comet Blaze stay in Ponyville, she's much happier there than she was with the other Vampire Ponies.

You know... it would have been adorable to see a stampede of fillies dog pile Luna for another pile up. I can just see her blinking before laughing. Oh, and if those bullies are picking on Comet Blaze still.. I suggest the CMC come to visit and get ready to buck a few teeth loose. Even better would be Luna arriving at the right moment and letting the bullies know they just insulted her friend.
Great story! I really like it so far (I'm only on chapter 7) But I'm a bit confused, or maybe i just missed something but how did Comet Blaze keep the name her mom gave her? I don't remember her writing the name near her or anything. Also, where is Spike?
4766562 I guess you're right. I would say the reason she kept the name her mother gave her was because she heard her mother say her name. Even though she was just born, she could still hear. Plus, she is a special pony. And Spike? He's not much of an important role in the story, but his name (and maybe him? I don't remember) does pop up a few times. Not much is said about him because not much in done around Twilight, so Spike really wouldn't be anywhere.

I would be very happy if Luna was going to Ponyville to pick up the Crusaders for a surprise visit to Comet Blaze. I can just see the CMC tearing through Comet Blaze's bullies and defending her.

I will not be surprised if Selene is Luna in disguise. I hope Comet Blaze comes out of this alright, but I know nothing will ever be the same for her again!
