5274791 Thank about the situation. It's Auroras word alone against a note from a teacher. I could have made it so Aurora didn't get in trouble, and it would not have been very hard, but I chose to make it so Diamond would get a little taste of what it's like to be picked on for once.
5275386 Given all the Friendship reports Twilight has sent to Celestia and what she knows of Aurora, I would expect her to consider both sides of the issue and come to the school to ask if anyone actually SAW Aurora shooting the spitball in question. It just seems Twilight is assuming the worse of Aurora when Discord, Trixie, and Luna all got second chances with her.
5278464 Luna got a second chance because she had just been wiped of the darkness that was Nightmare Moon. Discord got a second chance because, if I'm not mistaken, Celestia requested the mane 6 attempt to reform him. Trixie got a second chance because she was no longer being controlled by the alicorn amulet.
Now, as I said before, I could have very easily made it so she didn't get in trouble. It would've been easy to just write in one of the other students speaking up to Cheerilee. I, however, made it so Diamond would find out just what it's like to be picked on for one reason or another. Also, something else that'll happen in chapter 8 will make Aurora being grounded seem a little more fit for the story than her not being grounded.
5278651 Okay, time for the big gun: THE WEDDING WHERE TWILIGHT WAS RIGHT AND NOBODY LISTENED TO HER. I just find it odd she won't seem to consider Aurora is innocent and decided she was lying. I get it's for plot reasons, it just seems so unlike Twilight. So, if Twilight is proven wrong, I expect her to get down and beg Arora for forgiveness, especially considering she knows how it feels after the wedding.
5278782 And while that is a good point, try to look at it from a parental perspective. Your kid brings home a note from school, and you only have their word to go on against what the teacher says... who are you going to be more inclined to believe? Based on my own personal experiences, parents tend to believe the teacher first unless either there is good proof to back up their child, or they're one of those "My child could never possibly do anything wrong because they're the most perfect child in the world" type of parents. In this case, Twilight only has Auroras word against a note from school, and I don't believe she thinks of anyone, even Celestia, as being so perfect that they couldn't possibly do anything wrong.
5278924 I guess since my parents trusted me and I only had a note once in Kindergarten I never really experienced this. I was actually the victim of some bullying in Elementary School, so I guess I find it had to believe nobody listens to the victim when the bully is someone like Diamond Tiara. I know that when things got bad, the bully was punished.
It's honestly hard for me to feel sympathy for Diamond Tiara, she's a little bitch and deserves some humiliation.
