She hated life; she wanted to die. She was tired of being on Earth.

Unknown to most of Equestria, the ponies with wings of leather and teeth of knives still thrive in the shadows.

The vampire -or bat- ponies live in the far side of Equestria, away from the places were the Earth, Unicorn, and Pegasi Ponies have settled, making it almost impossible to have any contact between the four types. But that's what the vampire ponies wanted. No Contact.

It is a common ritual for a young pony to travel to the Everfree Forest and collect Five Sacred Items. First; The Plant of Blue that Plays You For A Fool. Second; A Strand of Hair From Magic Itself. Third; Potion of Pink To Open Your Eyes. Fourth; Flower of Desire that Comes From the Heart. Fifth; A Single Seed From the Infinite Night.

Comet Blaze is a lonely little filly. Abandoned at birth, she grew up without a family. All her peers either ignored her or bullied her. To add even more to that, she still didn't have her cutie mark, and she still wasn't able to fly. After the last Journey that was taken a little under a decade before, it was time for the prince, Blood Dusk, to choose the little pony to take the Journey. Unfortunately, the little filly of ash and blood was chosen. Comet Blaze was going to have a journey ahead of her.

But what could really happen in her quest to the Everfree Forest?
