The ship picked up another signal and a picture soon appeared on the monitor. A ship had crashed somewhere. It picked up the ship’s trail and followed it to a distant planet. When the mysterious vessel approached the unknown planet, the monitors scanned the wreckage of the downed spacecraft. On the bridge, a hologram projector displayed an image. Four beings surrounded the hologram as they looked at the data presented. It was unmistakable; the serpents had made it to this new world they had discovered. The hunt was on.

You did a damn good job. The storytelling was masterful the descriptions are great, Malkovich acted like any company-obsessed Weyland-Yutani official would, you kept great suspense... And that fucking ending. Yes. Yes. And yes.

Even so, there is one critical flaw: Grammar. There are missing apostrophes, apostrophes where there shouldn't be apostrophes, incorrect punctuation, etc, etc.

Even so, the grammar errors were, for once, actually overcome by the power your story had. This is the first time I've ever said anything like that for a story that has so many errors.

Overall, fantastic. Just get a proofreader and it'll go from a cocooned Praetorian to a Queen. Basically, it will be a masterpiece.

4729984 Of course they do, except this is basically the first time they've ever met an Xenomorph. Which in turn, having know idea what this thing is, they're reaction to it killing the guard ponies would be met with fear. Hope that helps clarify a few things.

Regarding the story itself, I'm a long standing fan of the Aliens and AvP books (from the 90's before the movies made a mockery of it). So bravo for such an interesting premise.

I'm curious though, if you're open to running this story by a proofreader. It appears like it has not actually been proofread, because there are so many obvious grammar errors. The dialog also seems very brisk and doesn't flow naturally. At least the parts I've seen so far. Fixing the grammar errors would go a long way to making the story more readable, because currently the reader must pause and consider what you're really saying as opposed to what is written, and that type of thing always throws a reader off.

Anyway, good job on the premise. We'll see how the execution goes.

Nyx does not fully play a prominent role in this story till the near end. In actuality, she inadvertently plays a special role when she gets captured. Shining Armor was the only pony that was trying to find the Queen's soon to be nest. So when she was taken it was the alarm bells that made the others look not only for the nest, but Nyx herself as well. (On a side note, Twilight trying to find Nyx is what I would reference as the moment in Aliens, where Ripley is trying to save Newt.)

Also, is she an adult or still a filly here?

In this story, Nyx is not a mare. She is still a filly.

I'm curious though, if you're open to running this story by a proofreader.

As for having this story read through by a proofreader, I shall find somepony that has the time to do so. If you know anypony, that would be a big help. I would ask my proofreader that worked on The True Nightmare's sequel, The Hunt, but he has shown no signs of interest.
