“This wine is too good for toast-drinking, my dear. You don't want to mix emotions up with a wine like that. You lose the taste.”

The Flim-Flam Brothers fully anticipated a couple of failures every now and then. It's not like it mattered. After all, there was still tons of opportunity to go around, right?

Not exactly. The little song-and-dance cider business never really panned out. After a nasty argument stemming from a particularly embarrassing failure, the two brothers decided it was best to split up and take their ideas elsewhere.

Well, one brother has hit the jackpot, while the other hasn't been so lucky. And now, after a long period of silence, the brothers find themselves meeting face-to-face once again. Only this time, they're not strictly talking business.

not bad. pretty interesting so far. I like it.

This story has been admitted into the Sibling Story Stockpile.

It's so interesting to see how you wrote their characters behind the song-and-dance routine that was presented in the show. And to see them have two distinct personalities was great, too---a lot of people assume twins are exactly alike, so this was refreshing. :pinkiehappy:

Wow. This was really poignant. A few years ago I had a hard falling out with someone similarly close to me, and this really captured the raw emotions well. :unsuresweetie:

AAAAARGH oh, you leave it on a cliffhanger! I really like the way you integrated the music into their conversation; very cinematic. And the shift between the brothers' perspectives keeps the story balanced. This chapter really draws out the nuances in sibling relationships, now that we see things from Flam's point of view. Excellent as always :pinkiehappy:

I liked the tension and I thought that the escalation was done very well, this is pretty good so far, keep it up

Amazing. Truly amazing.

A touching, if not poignantly sad, story. I love it, I really do.

You gave the two such a wonderful dynastic and the drama...you could literally could cut through it with a butter knife.

Brilliant.

Well done.

I like it, although I'm still baffled as to why these two are getting a revive in the show.

Definitely an underrated story.

I have no idea what to think of Flim. He's a jerk in the flashbacks, but I can't help but feel so sorry for him... :fluttercry:

Alright, it's decided: Flim's a jerk. :ajbemused:

im gonna go fling myself out of earths orbit if u need me

I know I’m soooo late to this story but goddamn was it amazing, everything felt so raw and real!! Thank you so much for this story :heart:
