The series stars a unicorn pony named Sunburst, a student of Lord Discord - the ruler of the magical land of Equestria - and Princess Cadance. The princess gives Sunburst the task of learning about friendship and invites him and his assistant, a baby dragon named Ember, to the newly-refound Crystal Empire. There, they meet some interesting ponies, including action-loving Shining Armor, fainéant Zephyr Breeze, hard-working Big Mac, amiable Soarin, and hyperactive Cheese Sandwich. Together, they go on adventures, solve various problems, and learn about the magic of friendship. Or, rather, broship.

You might be wondering what is going on here. Who am I? What did I do? Well, we have to rewind a bit in order to get the story. This is my story.

When Celestia asked the Guardians of Harmony to help reform Discord, they didn't get the chance. After less than a day of freedom, the chaos lord vanished. A year later, the Guardian of Kindness vanished, too...

A year ago, Chrysalis invaded Ponyville and Canterlot with Discord at her side. After a bloody battle resulting in the deaths of countless ponies, Discord was defeated and Chrysalis fled with her changelings. Now in a Canterlot dungeon, the chaos lord is a shadow of his former mischievous self. Despite his betrayal, Princess Celestia strives to understand what drove him to ally with the changelings. Enlisting the help of her sister, Princess Luna, the ruler of all Equestria sends her right-hoof mare to try and ferret out what could've caused Discord to betray them once again.

Deep in the dungeons of Canterlot, Luna engages in a half-mad game of Twenty Questions with the draconequus, desperate for answers. But the more time she spends with Discord, the more questions she has. Why did he help Chrysalis invade Canterlot? Why does he want to kill her now? Who was Rosedust? Why are the Princesses of Equestria responsible for her death and the death of someone else Discord is hungry to avenge? And is all of this an elaborate lie to trick Luna and Celestia into setting their old friend-turned-enemy free once more?

The Shy family take filly Fluttershy on an outing. While there, she experiences an awakening that will live with her for the rest of her life.

Setting is prior to S1 when the Mane 6 are fillies.

Zephyr Breeze just can't seem to catch a break. After doing his best to get his degree in Mane Therapy, and continuing to keep his parents company in their golden years, he's run up against the challenge of actually finding a way to put his degree to good use and find.... a J-O-B.

When his big sister Fluttershy finds out what a difficult time he's having, she tells him about a wonderful work opportunity that perfectly fits his skill set. Short hours, lots of pay, and he has to do almost nothing himself. All he has to do is show up for the job interview and make a good impression on his would be boss. And if Zephyr is good at anything, it's making a good impression.

It sounds too good to be true. Unfortunately for Zephyr, it probably is.

Before Shining Armor asked Princess Cadance out, his terrible roommate Zephyr Breeze started a heartsong about pegasi and other creatures with wings, in public.

Shining Armor is not okay with this.

On a day like any other, Rainbow has plans; just not like any other day. But unfotunately, some ponies just have to destroy it and other ponies start thinking of other things- mainly two: Date and Love. What will Rainbow do?

They call it the Surface Storm, existing for centuries yet still it lies mostly in mystery. Of all the Skyways, it has the most of the tragic tales, with most being able to scrape themselves back from a horrible fate. But even of these tales, one pony seeks the truth; the head bosun of Canterlot's Agri-flotilla, Twilight Sparkle. Long has she been denied what she sees as her destiny, but now by mere happenstance, she finds herself sailing right towards it. What truly lies with the legendary storm? Follow one mare as sails straight into the dangerous unknown to not only clear her name, but to find her destiny.

Zephyr Breeze has never been a brave pony or a particularly able pony. He knows this. He lives this. And yet he's always tried to take the quick and easy way, hoping that the answer to his insecurities and loneliness could be found just over the next rainbow (or with it). Every time he just found more empty space, but it beat the alternative of accepting that he was a failure.

Eventually, though, he had to stop. After the worst day of his life, he finally started to settle himself, move forwards, and take responsibility. His life wasn't going to be a dream, but neither would it be a nightmare. And while he'd never own Rainbow Dash's heart, that didn't mean she wouldn't have a place for him in hers.
