These are the words echoing in a young silver filly's mind as she slowly exits the train to Canterlot and heads to the edge of the city, a sheer cliff-drop of hundreds of feet. Not expecting anypony to be watching, she looks down and releases a deep sigh, taking one hoof-step forward.

I have thrown my life away, and now I'll be the one to pay.

But maybe it'll take one compassionate filly from her life before to show her the way to the light.

But when that said bully dies in an accident, each of them starts to go through their own emotional experience from this sudden change in their lives. Each will learn more about themselves and about the pony who they all thought they knew before she is laid to rest.

It's been twelve years since Applejack's ascent to her current status as the Earth Goddess, Princess Mara of Equestria. In that time, she's gotten quite used to her duties, be they ceremonial, executive, or judicial in nature. But when she's called upon to rule on a particularly contentious lawsuit involving some of the most obnoxious ponies from her past, the results may end up altering the very nature of Equestrian law.

This story is a spin-off of Blue Print's Appleverse, however, it's not necessary to read his stories first (though I do recommend them for a more thorough explanation of the backstory).

Hearth's Warming is a wonderful time for everypony...except for the naughty ponies who can only expect coal from Santa Hooves. Diamond Tiara is one of those ponies, and she's not looking forwards to it...but a lot can change in a short time.
