Rainbow Dash, now a wonderbolt, is practicing her flying one night. Her close friend/teammate Soarin sees her alone and decides to accompany her. The two pegasi talk about their interests, they both realize that they have a lot in common. They even went through similar situations during their previous lifetimes.

But, something is bothering Soarin. For the longest time, he has a huge crush on Rainbow Dash, ever since she won the Best Young Fliers Competition two years ago. He's afraid to tell the mare how he feels about her. But Soarin tells himself to stallion up and tell her how he feels. Still, he's too nervous. He realized that confessing his feelings to the mare he really liked was going to be hard for him. But, he tries.
Will he finally tell her about his feelings? Will Rainbow return his affections?

Author Note: To make your understanding clear about my writing, I do not always feature romance in the stories I write. Since it's difficult to write about Romance, I'll try my best to make the actions of the characters as sappy as possible (if needed).

Soarin proves himself completely hopeless at this thing one might call romance if not for his failure at it, as he tries to woo Rainbow Dash while his fellow Wonderbolts take endless enjoyment from his floundering. Just how is a "decently" aged, pie obsessed, goofball supposed to ask a mare out anyways? Especially when that mare is a young star in her prime, which he is most certainly not?

None of this is obviously helped by the fact that Rainbow is a prankster and troll, something that the lovestruck Soarin is, well, too lovestruck to notice or care about.

Retirement. It was a tough subject for Spitfire. She knew she was about to retire soon, but she hadn' t notified Fleetfoot and Soarin of her decision. Unfortunately for Spitfire, Fleetfoot already knows and is more than apt to tell her all of her feelings on the matter. She's angry. She's anxious. She's upset.

She just wants Spitfire not to leave. Was it that hard to want something like this in life?

Apparently to Spitfire, there's more to this than meets the eye.

Written originally for a Speedwrite for Quills and Sofas' Spitfire Contest under both prompts Leave No One Behind and Finish Line, where it tied for 1st place. This is a revised expanded version of said fic that is now a submission to the 2024 Wonderbolts Sitewide Contest.

Life doesn't always go smoothly, and relationships rarely work out as expected. Fleetfoot has recently become aware of that. So, when her partner turns her life into a constant competition, she seeks relief in a solitary gym session in order to deal with it.

It is only when she gets surprising company that she discovers how cathartic togetherness can be.

There are days that you just can't really explain. Such as when you jump off a diving board and accidentally go through a portal to another universe, oh did I mention I fell on my face? Well at least it was a cloud, but falling on your face only gets so fun. That's also how I met Spitfire, and Soarin, and Fleetfoot and just about every Wonderbolt in Cloudsdale. Did I mention that I fell face-first right in the middle of a really big Wonderbolts meeting? This is my tale of what life was like after I face-planted in a land of magical talking ponies yet didn't get admitted to an insane asylum.

Fleetfoot has led a bad life. Her parents abuse her, her older brother loves her but is powerless to help. And she and her friends are Wonderbolts. Ponies who are seen as pathetic and losers. Fleetfoot one day finds an old and powerful artifact that unleashes all the power her parents concealed long ago. Fleetfoot only wants to help with her new powers, but she can't control them.

Fleetfoot is attacked by her parents and runs off, isolating herself from everypony else. Her friends Rainbow Dash, Spitfire Flare, and Soarin Skies want her back, and they begin a quest to find her. But when they do, she isn't all that willing to return. Not without a plan

Fluttershy wants to have a picnic, but all of her friends are busy. However, Celestia sends a pony in her place that could learn from her.

With the importance of destiny in Equestria, Fleetfoot questions whether she even has free will. And with her revelation that flight is connected to magic, she wonders if her special talent of flying is nothing to be proud of. These thoughts swirl in her mind as she desires the answers to her questions. When an opportunity to find out arises in a dream, it then becomes a question of whether Fleetfoot will regret seeking these answers or not.
