And Bon Bon and Lyra are in the middle.

Candy Heart knew she wasn’t a normal pony. Between her unmatched intellect and unshakable ambition, she knew she was destined for greatness. She was destined to be the best, and once the incantation was complete she truly would be: everything holding her back, from loneliness to regret to remorse, would be gone. She’d be free, and she’d be unstoppable.

Except that isn’t what happened.

Instead, two more ponies came into being. This is their story.

Ever since the Bugbear incident in Ponyville, the Super-Secret Anti-Monster Agency re-opened their facilities and welcomed back their fellow agents, including one of their very best, Special Agent Sweetie Drops.

Overtime, the Earth Pony, who took up the name "Bon Bon" many years ago, seems to manage her double life pretty well ever since her re-acceptance. But little did she realize is that her tendency to keep details and whereabouts all to herself is taking its toll on one very important pony in her life as well as the only pony who knows of her secret identity: Lyra Heartstrings. So on one night, when Bon Bon returns from her recent mission and sneaks into their home, Lyra decides to confront this matter once and for all before it drives them apart even further.

Ponyville has a problem: Twilight's friends all switched Cutie Marks, and the musical numbers are flying thick and fast.
Lyra has a problem: She can't handle the way musical numbers get into your head and take you over.
Bon Bon has a problem with that.

Twilight Sparkle never seemed to notice Lyra Heartstrings. She didn't even remember Lyra's name.

They were friends back in Canterlot and even went to school together. Yet Twilight didn't notice that Lyra just happened to move to Ponyville the same day she did. She didn't even notice when Lyra appeared at her welcoming party. Nor did she ever seem to spot her old classmate passing by in the background on any other day during her stay in Ponyville. Some days she could look right at Lyra and never realize that they knew each other.

Lyra isn't a very noticeable pony. She has put a lot of effort into that.

Set in late season 5, after Amending Fences.
