Twilight Sparkle has been reclusive ever since Celestia and Luna inexplicably left Equestria. Her closest friends try to find a way to get her to open up, but their meeting is interrupted by the Map suddenly calling to all five of them to solve a problem. As they gather in the Map room, a flash of light transports the mares to a familiar, yet greatly changed Equestria... far, far in the future!

pluperfect, n. the past perfect verb tense.

pluperfect, adj. more than perfect; excessively precise or complete.

A weekend with all her friends away, a shelf full of books, and Haycartes' Method- the spell that lets a pony see a book from the inside. It seemed like a perfect relaxing weekend for Twilight Sparkle- with a little tweak to the spell, that is.

Then she woke up inside the story... as the main character... with the main character's memories... and the main character's thoughts trying to override her own...

... and she can't remember how to get back out.

Twilight Sparkle took her entrance exam. Then there was a rainbow light, and everything went to Tartarus. The next thing she knows, she wakes up inside a mortuary.

Thus begins her new destiny as the daughter of Death.

Long ago, there was a unicorn filly who made paintings with her magic that were said to be life like. However, she lived with two parents who were always fighting and abusing each other much to her sorrow. One day, she made a painting of a scary figure she had seen in her dreams. She put the painting up in her special room, but the next day the family was never seen again.

Hundreds of years later, Scootaloo visits their old abandoned house and sees the painting for herself.
