What if Wallflower Blush’s pony counterpart in Equestria…wasn’t a pony at all?
Enter Wallflower Blush. The most dangerous changeling in Equestria that you’ll never meet.
CONTENT WARNING: This story contains depictions of war violence which some readers may find disturbing. This is a work of fiction, and I do NOT condone the immoral actions in this story.
DISCLAIMER: I have never read The Perks of Being a Wallflower before. I'm not even sure what it's about. I thought of the title a year ago and thought it was too good of a wordplay to pass up; the actual story came much later.
Story is set sometime before the changeling reformation.
Don't you dare.
I do like what you did here. The narrations is weird because it's meant to come from someone that has a different way of thinking. And I do like how it often contradicts itself as it learns and evolves. You also bring some interesting head-canons for the changelings, and the start of something with this version of Wallflower (which also may include the golden unicorn).
Good job, Mica.
Where can I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower?

It's a popular novel that is widely available in bookstores or on Amazon. But this story is of virtually no relation to The Perks of Being a Wallflower; just the title is similar.
An interesting story. Very well written.

Agreed. This is a good story.
You better not.
The story hooked me in immediately. Just the prospect of Wallflower being a changeling was something I was immediately interested in. I love how the story continues to build on Wallflower being a changeling, and it clearly shows the point where she starts embracing the invisible as not a form of attack, but a form of existence.
I like how the story is about the definition of invisible. It’s a beautiful appreciation of all the things that are just there. Beauty in the mundane, which happens to be one of my favorite story topics. Like Sleepless said, the story seems to contradict itself because you’re seeing the way Wallflower’s thoughts evolve over an indeterminate amount of time. It could be months, years, but all we know is that Wallflower eventually realizes that she’s harming the beauty of the world.
I really like the structure of this story, it’s a series of divorced thoughts, but none of them are unimportant, each one has its reason for existing. Not to mention, they were very-well written. My personal favorite ones are the death of “587” and the final one. You know why Wallflower killed “587”, but the description of her cold dead body makes you feel Wallflower’s absolute despair at doing such a thing. The final one is very well-done, too. It’s a beautiful cumulation of all of Wallflower’s thought processes to that point, her growing dissatisfaction with being a changeling, and what it means to be ‘invisible’.
I particularly love this line from that last break:
This line shows Wallflower’s evolution as a character in the story. She doesn’t need to keep track anymore because she’s learned that nothing deserves to just be a number. It’s a powerful way of saying ‘there’s beauty in everything so don’t bother quantifying it’.
In fact, there’s several, several lines I love in this story. I’ll only list one more series of lines, because this comment is already a chore to read through.
This right here is fantastic. It plays with the human perception of numbers. If you’re fighting one tiger, and you’re suddenly fighting two, you’re now fighting twice as many tigers, but if you’re fighting 100, 101 suddenly seems less bad. But these lines really drive home that point, as well as emphasizing that the numbers are arbitrary. They only mean something because Wallflower decided to impose meaning on them, but now that the meaning is already imposed, there’s no new meaning to add, so Wallflower tries to add more meaning by making it look larger than it actually is.
I can’t quite speak for Wallflower’s characterization here (I’m not an EqG gal), but regardless of whether she’s in-character or not, it seems almost trivial when the story is written this well. It’s a beautiful story about the definition of invisible and that being invisible should be leaving the world better than you found it, while not expecting a reward. Beautiful story, easily a favorite.

I was worried how people would react to Wallflower killing "587" and not being held fully accountable for her crime. Sometimes it's hard for me to gauge what people will (or will not) be enraged by when I publish a story.
Thank you for your thoughtful analysis and kind words.

We know the changelings won’t hold her accountable, but she holds herself accountable.

There's a difference between someone not getting punished for a crime and a story not recognizing what someone did was wrong. Your story clearly recognized that it was wrong. Mind you, I don't think people should be so up in arms about a story they don't like that they want the author to take it down. Just dislike it and be on your way, but in any case your story definitely does not deserve a dislike. Thanks for the nice read.
Hm.
This was a good story. I wonder what happened to her, after the Wedding.
Outstanding work. A mind forced into a specific shape by Chrysalis’s demand, struggling to survive. And like any plant, it seeks out every crack it can find and slowly, relentlessly forces it wider. Brilliant portrayal of both Equestrian Wallflower and the tyranny of the mad queen. Thank you for it. I can only hope the Thoracic Revolution happens soon in this timeline.

Why does that sound oddly like a fad weight training regimen?
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Brilliant story of Equestria Wallflower !!
I have to say, taking on the form of a crop sounds pretty impressive.
Anyways, this Wallflower was a very deep character.
This great!
This was unique. I like.
