The Firework Lotus Celebration, a grand festival which celebrates the dawn of a new year, is a tradition held near and dear to Spike's heart. But when the winds of change threaten to take this special time away from him, Spike is forced to make a difficult decision. Which is more important: what he knows to be right, or what he feels to be right?

And as Spike soon discovers, it's a choice best made with the help of some friends.

And yes, that’s a hyphen in the title.

Only Princess Twilight and Principal Celestia can save the world, but it's really not their top priority.

The original draft of this story was written as an entry for the second Quills and Sofas Speedwriting Competition.

Tempest Shadow arrives in Canterlot at the behest of Rarity. The fashionista's letter was vague, but spoke of a matter of great importance that she needed help with. Braving the snow-covered mountains, Tempest arrives ready to help out.

However, Tempest learns that Rarity needs help not with an old enemy or runaway creature, but the upcoming Hearth's Warming Fashion Show. And it just so happens she needs a model for her latest line...
