Somepony is sabotaging Moondancer's research project.

Twilight Sparkle suspects Starlight Glimmer may be responsible. She enlists the Canterlot Royal Guard to protect Moondancer, and offers to help with her research.

Soon, however, the two ponies discover an unexpected side effect of Moondancer's research: one with dangerous consequences for all of Equestria—and possibly even their friendship.

She hopes Twilight thinks so too and takes her to an old dive of hers where they share some drinks, have some laughs and bond. Beer just has a way of bringing people together like that.
Thing is, after a few of them, they can also make one become more contemplative about life and Sunset finds herself reflecting on the events of hers.
A lot of missteps, missed opportunities and shit that could have just gone better. But all things considered, she's pretty damn happy with where she's ended up.

Tree Hugger isn't a bad pony to know, even if she isn't exactly your friend. Some ponies are just nice to have around for conversation and recreation, and Tree Hugger's an excellent partner for both of those things — even if she's a little hung up on some more "esoteric" principles.

Rarity doesn't mind the recreation. Or, for that matter, the conversation. But it's always been a little vexing why Tree Hugger would want to do these things with her.

Sometimes, these sorts of questions have enlightening answers.
