Sunset Shimmer never had any knowledge of what The Crystal Empire is like and wonders what life is like there. When Princess Twilight allows Sunset and her counterpart to come along, she also brings Starlight Glimmer to give them company along the way. On the way there, there will be a surprise Twilight Sparkle will never expect in her entire life.

Twilight has not seen her older brother in quite some time. Given that she’s just received tenure, is the Chairman of the Physics department, and is basically now the central figure of Butler University’s Astronomy program, it’s safe to say that she deserves a vacation.

Shining Armor has held a position at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage for about two or three years. He and his wife, Cadance, have also recently welcomed their daughter, Flurry Heart. Suffice it to say, they need to move to a bigger house.

I’m very glad to have hit it off well with Twilight in Chicago, and I would love to grow our friendship, but sibling competitions aren’t my thing, given my own family history.

Though not on the list, Shining Armor and Night Light do appear.

Princess Cadance had been hiding her biggest secret from Shining Armor for years; never working up the courage to tell him, and now caught in a seemingly awkward position.

I wanted to explore relationship dynamics and self-acceptance barriers with this one; something one can relate to despite what kind of secrets are kept in relationships, or even friendships for that matter.

A sixteen-year-old Flurry Heart meets King Sombra the only prisoner of the Crystal Empire. She questions him about his life and about the Empire when he lived in it. All while lying to her parents about what she's doing, since she thinks all the information will benefit the empire.

Hope you read Fiendship is magic book 1, cause this story does include elements from the comic. It's also a good read.

This story is a sequel to Satan's first strike

Two years after rescuing Neighsay's crew from Satan, Twilight settled down with a husband. However, he was killed by a Timberwolf during a hike in the Everfree Forest. Eight and a half months have passed and Twilight is very pregnant. Now, Twilight has been under the weather, but has still been capable of teaching class. Carrying a child in her womb, she knows she must go on a maternity leave. Flurry Heart is excited, and has volunteered to be her substitute. Neighsay is aware of why Twilight is leaving, and has volunteered to step in as headmaster during her leave. Also, what will happen six years later?
