Well sure - strangeness is relative. For some people, it might look something like that. For Sunset Shimmer, it would probably include getting vacuumed up by the mirror portal, marooned on an unknown world, and having to rescue her friends from its furthest reaches. Then again, it might also include finding out that there's a lot more at stake here than the lives of seven teenagers.

It all depends on your point of view, really.

Humanity has outgrown true worship of the supernatural, leaving the Divine weakened.

At the behest of an Old Earth God, a brilliant young woman is upgraded then sent to Equestria in an attempt to garner favor for the Divines. That simple mission is waylaid when her arrival allows Discord to escape petrification at the hands of Celestia and Luna.

Now, stuck on a strange world, the young woman must decide on a course of action.

An exiled changeling. Completely cut off from the Hive and left to wander Equestria to die. But death doesn't greet him. Instead a new life in Ponyville, hidden from the town residents by Vinyl Scratch, Octavia, and the CMC. But why was he exiled? Why did he instinctively wander towards Ponyville?

Dithyl and Keyser. Two changeling friends of the changeling from before his exile set out in their own self-exile to find their friend.

Few things bring as much joy to Berry Punch as riding trains. Because of this, she was overjoyed to find a misprinted timetable that listed a new train travelling to Canterlot in the dead of night- -and even more pleased to discover that rumors of a new, experimental type of engine were true.

Except that this train does not run quite on time. And not many ponies seem to be willing to ride it, despite how many cars there seem to be. And how everything is oh so silent. Or, as Berry Punch begins to discover, something she would rather not know about the last train car...

Ponyville receives its fair shares of ponies moving in and out. However, while everyone has their secrets, one has one that's different than most. As he finds himself learning more and more about the town and its folk, will the saying "nothing stays secret forever" hold true? And what does it mean for those he cares about?

Familiar setups with new twists mix in with the tale of the new guy in town. He's not the cause of all changes, but can certainly bring some himself.
