Bit of an inspiration for me. Barely knew a thing about Slavic culture or food before I started watching him. I was vaguely aware of squatting, track suits and vodka, but that was about it.
He's always been weird, but normally he's cool-weird. Like that time he made a computer run on vodka.
"The Season of Grace" by Willow Wren: Beautifully written, and doesn't rush the ship even though it's only about 2500 words. I had some intellectual reservations along the lines of "But why, logically, do these two love each other?" Of course it helps that I already know from watching the show that FlutterMac is MLP's OTP. But, if I must task my old grey cells with understanding romance, actions speak louder than words: What
Saw the movie on opening night, and I probably should have taken the effort to signal boost that I thought it was good given that due to the fucked up financial culture of Hollywood, movies live and die by their opening box office, but oh well.
One of the small delights I have on this site is finding a story from an author that is clearly only starting out, but shows a lot of promise.
Such is the case with The Table Set by TheGuineaPig45. While there are two other canceled fics on their page published in 2016, this story is complete and very compelling in its simplicity.
Laughter.
Laughter is one of the five Elements of Harmony and one of the best virtues of Friendship. Laughter brings us up when we are down, and brings light to even the darkest of times. Humour comes in all forms. From slapstick to gallows, from rude and crude to puns that take days to get. Humour and the laughter it brings is part of all our lives.
And so it is with Fimfiction.
So this weekend, I'm recovering from my third Covid shot reaction and trying to scrawl out a new chapter of How Twilight Learned and discovering that there is an update to an old favorite story of mine.
Hey there, so it's secret that I enjoy simple stories with simple writing. Quick enjoyable fluff, you could say.
But many times I want something with depth of flavor beyond one note. Something with world-building and imaginative prose to satisfy the appetite.

I rarely recommend stories, but I'm recommending The Brief, Torrid Love-Affair of Fernando the Straw and Madame le Flour . Like the titular characters, the story could use some love. And it's likely to touch you in ways that might require you to call out for an adult.
You'll laugh, you'll cry, you might call the cops. Go ahead and give it a go.

Pandemic
A word that we have all been living with for a couple of years now. The word brings to mind masks, mandates, vaccines and a grimly rising tool of the sick and dead. Pandemics are not fun.
Unless said pandemic, instead of killing people, starts turning them into colourful ponies with strange abilities.

So, get this, I'm looking for something good to read. Not just good, but good and long. I'm not looking for clop, but I'm not being shy about what I could pick otherwise.
I'm scrolling through the recently updated, pages upon pages. I'm certain there have been many before me who have done the same, right?
So, if you can't tell, I am a girl. I'm not a "normal" girl though when it comes to shoes. I get one pair, and only change when I absolutely have to. I had my last pair for almost 3 years, and they are being held together with glue and duct tape 
so my grandma surprised me, and got me a awesome pair of boots. I love them 
there are a little expensive, but it is way worth it. It's 5.11 tactical 8" storm. I will highly recommend these to anyone. 
"The series premiere, but different" is a timeworn genre in most fandoms, and pony is no different. A good chunk of the authors here have put their own spin on Twilight arriving in Ponyville and that first journey into the Everfree, including me. But this one is special.
One thing I wish I did more often was recommend stories that I've found enjoyable. I've long felt that one of the responsibilities of being a well-known author in this fandom is to use your platform to highlight new and upcoming authors. Few things annoy me more than finding a writer with thousands of followers who does nothing with their page except highlight their own stories – we get it, you're a popular author. Try and do something good with that popularity.
