Overthinker with too much free time. May rarely brain dump story ideas I've come up with that fascinate me, don't trust me to finish them.

A Little Something I Found by Chance

I'm just scrolling through the more stories sidebar, right? Well, one of them caught my eye.
Not because I wanted to read it or anything, to be honest I'm not sure why I caught the detail I did.

The Mature filter saves the day!

So, get this, I'm looking for something good to read. Not just good, but good and long. I'm not looking for clop, but I'm not being shy about what I could pick otherwise.
I'm scrolling through the recently updated, pages upon pages. I'm certain there have been many before me who have done the same, right?

    When documents don't save...

I had a near final form of Living Hell Chapter 16 typed up, then I went back to it earlier today... I lost all of it. I'm back to the first version I made that gave me a writer's block... I guess I have to rewrite it again.

I had another idea on how t do the chapter anyway.

    New Chapter in the Works.

I've written about 2000 or so words into the next chapter for Living Hell, and I have plans to finish it soon. I'm glad to be back people, I can type and game comfortably once again :D!

    Inactivity Explanation/Excuse

So, Those who read my book, you definitely know I've been on an inactivity streak for a while, at least on the updates and writing side. I mean, it's fairly obvious, seeing as I haven't done a blog post or anything until today.

Anyway, why I haven't done so is because I am lacking a decent computer space right now. And printer paper/scanning bays.

The Mature filter saves the day! · 7:52am Dec 19th, 2016

So, get this, I'm looking for something good to read. Not just good, but good and long. I'm not looking for clop, but I'm not being shy about what I could pick otherwise.
I'm scrolling through the recently updated, pages upon pages. I'm certain there have been many before me who have done the same, right?
The mature filter is off. I'm getting almost a 3-1 ratio of clop to one-shot. Obviously, none of this fits in with the two specifications I laid out. I mean, it's not like there is a way to explicitly omit clop from the list in the search bar, right? There should be a seperate tag for clop and sex, really.
ANYWAY, I'm just scrolling through, not finding muck-all what I was looking for, so I got this idea. All of the clop is Mature rated, so why not use that filter? I mean, sure, I'm also losing alot of the heavy gore fics, but those are comparatively few and far between. Guess what I found after that? Five minutes in, and I found an incomplete masterpiece using the min word filter and my sharp eye. It's about 95K words in its current form, and it is on the best fics I've read recently. I've teased long enough, I suppose. It is called "The View from Rock Bottom" by Eckaji. It's a wee bit on the generic side, but what fanfiction isn't? What makes it so good, is that there is somethinf bigger happening, but you can't really notice it until you pay extra close attention. I haven't been able to pick up on too many of those fine details, but I have picked up some of them, just enough to be able to know that it is there. Maybe you'll read through it and be able to fully interpret what is going on, maybe you won't notice anything going on, or maybe you'll just ignore my suggestion entirely and forget that this fic even exists.
In any case, that's the end of the story of how I was only able to find any good reading material by turning on the mature filter.
But really, they need to add a seperate clop tag, as well as tag omission in the search algorithm. Both would be very nice to have.
