Saw the movie on opening night, and I probably should have taken the effort to signal boost that I thought it was good given that due to the fucked up financial culture of Hollywood, movies live and die by their opening box office, but oh well.
That said, especially once I had time to think about it and talk it over with friends, I thought it was really good. Great animation and music, and the story went to some interesting places that the show kind of needed to go. It also serves as a kind of Archetypal MLP Adventure Story, so you could potentially show it to people who've never seen the show and they could appreciate what the show was like. I've also been listening to the soundtrack non-stop for two weeks now. Go catch it tomorrow or something.
That said, besides my vague endorsement, if you have seen it, I felt that SoloBrony's thematic analysis was top notch and helped me appreciate the movie even more, and whether you liked it or not, I feel it's an interesting breakdown in its own right.
Anyway, I continue to work away behind the scenes. Cheerio and pony on and all that.
