It's been six months since Tirek was defeated, but Trixie still has nightmares. Nightmares of being pinned down, of the magic being ripped from her bones, of being thrown around like a worthless doll. It's been six months since Trixie has had a full night's sleep, and all she wants is peace.

But Trixie is fine. Trixie doesn't need Twilight. She doesn't need her family. She doesn't need anyone. Trixie loves being alone.

So why can't she stop crying?


A completely revamped version of a fic written for the Writeoff Association's May contest, "I Regret Nothing," which was originally published under the name Fight Back.
Loosely inspired by the song of the same name by Five Iron Frenzy.
Rated 'Teen' for some minor violent imagery.

As the Grand Galloping Gala draws to a close, tensions linger from Discord and Fluttershy's fight. Discord, nervous and remorseful, is afraid to approach her. Meanwhile, Fluttershy regrets yelling at him, even while knowing better.

The good news: Fluttershy knows she can set everything right again.

The bad news: it's going to require her to come to grips with old wounds.

Out on the frontier, the only friend a pony can really trust is the gun in her hoof. Out where the land is wild and the buffalo roam, more than a few ponies have foregone scratching out a living on the farms or mines to seek riches and glory on the wrong side of the law. As a particularly mysterious and valuable cargo heads west on a long train journey, six mares follow with trouble in their wake, each intending to claim the prize for her own.

Also, a lot of ponies get shot.

If there's one thing that everypony in Equestria knows, it's that Rainbow Dash is the most athletic mare ever. There's no competition she can't win, no accolade she can't earn, no feat of strength she can't accomplish! She can do anything!

That is, anything except impress her father.

Although she tries to hide it, all Rainbow has ever wanted to do in life is make her father—world champion strongpony Rainbow Blaze—proud of her, by bulking up and becoming a strongpony just like him. But no matter how hard she tries, she can't do it! Her body just isn't made to get swole like that!

On the day of the annual Equestrian Strongpony Competition, Princess Luna grants Rainbow's wish to become the single strongest, most muscular mare in all of Equestria. Will winning the competition be enough to impress her father? Or is Rainbow destined to live life as a failure?
