It is 1918. The Allies have defeated the Central Powers and now US marines and US army troops are being sent to Germany for occupation duty. Among them are the men of B company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment. Gunnery Sergeant Nathan Blackburn has seen the war through from beginning to finish and is relieved it is over. But when a strange cloud transports him and his comrades to a strange new land where they themselves have taken on strange new appearances, Blackburn soon realizes that his fight is far from over.

After a series of strange events following a firefight, Senior Airman Jack Beckett goes from the harsh and hostile mountains of Afghanistan to the lush and peaceful lands of Equestria. Stuck in a world with no need for a defender like him, Jack sees a chance to escape from the stresses of war while they try to find a way to send him back. But when a dangerous threat, both old and new, looms over country, Jack finds himself the only one capable of standing against it to protect his new friends.

I apologize in advance for slow updates, but this story is literally being written on location in Afghanistan during my deployment, so bear with me and don't hate me too much when some chapters don't come for weeks. As always, constructive critiques are encouraged and compliments will be met with thankful tears.

A United States Army Military Police soldier finds himself in Equestria after surviving an ambush in Afghanistan. Old enemies return to threaten the kingdom and it's up to Twilight, her friends, and the strange newcomer to stop them.

My name is James Clark, and I am a Private Military Contractor. No, not Mercenary. Yes, there is a difference, but that's beside the point.

Ok, where was I? Ah yes, I was just entering my office in Downtown Houston one afternoon to hear a job offer. When I got there, I found a beautiful, robe-wearing woman waiting for me. Now, in this day and age, most people would find that strange. I didn't for two reasons.

1) In this line of work, you run into a few crazies. If I had a dollar for every nut-job I turned away, I could buy a small European country.

2) It was Halloween. Hell, I was on my way to a party dressed in a replica suit of Veteran Ranger Armor from Fallout: New Vegas, complete with gas mask and real riot gear I borrowed from a friend on the SWAT team. I was gonna win the costume contest for sure!

I'm getting off topic, aren't I? Anyways, this weirdo offered me a job without going into much detail. No location, no objective, not even a dollar amount The only thing I got out of her was the promise that I would be saving thousands, if not millions of lives.

Every instinct told me to turn the job down, and yet I still accepted it. Maybe the idea of playing hero again had its appeal.

God, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

A man had all but written off humanity after retiring from military service. Precepts like Faith, Hope and Love had always been a part of his life but had fallen into shadow due to dark times. In their place, the motto from the U.S. Coast Guard "Semper Paratus" or "Always Prepared" had gotten him through difficulties many times before.

But what happens when the rough time isn't even on the same planet, let alone with other people. Will the training and constant "prepper" attitude be enough to get him through? Fighting despair, resentment, selfish ambitions and now sorcery- a man born out of chaos discovers a powerful talent where human precepts clash with Magic!

In the year 2050 Negotiations between the U.S and China go bad resulting in a full scale war. Jake Eld is a 17 year old Force Recon Marine who along with his squad fights through enemy after enemy but when then a nuke is dropped which collides with Eld's shield system on his armor sending him to Equestria.

I am a United States Air Force fighter pilot. I'm supposed to be a fearless, balls to the wall man of unfathomable feats. But somehow, I was taken from my world during a simple, routine flight. Now that I'm stuck here, part of me wishes I could have done things differently... The other part wants to stay here in this peaceful land, surrounded by serenity. Only time will tell where my road leads. I just hope I can find a way to cope in the mean time.

Hello. My name is Adam Jones, yeah you probably never heard of me. I'm UKSF, pathfinders to be exact and now military liaison between here and home, well I say home, here is now my home. For now anyway. Originally I was stepping down from the pathfinders after my last training exercise in Cyprus. Which then lead to me being offered a job working a very simple security liaison role paying very generously, plus brilliant benefits. They neglected to mention I would be working for the Bermuda project.

Team Yankee is an armor-heavy company, or 'team', composed mainly of M1 Abrams tanks. Their parent unit, the 1st Battalion of the 4th Armored, is stationed in southern Germany to help defend against possible Soviet attacks. Under the command of Captain Sean Bannon, the team is quickly placed on the border during a period of high tensions with the Warsaw Pact during the late 1980's. Though there is nothing special about this particular team, they will quickly find themselves in a very unique situation.
