Sunset makes it her mission to contain the stray Equestrian magic that leaks into her new home, doing her best to minimize corruption and damage to anyone that can be harmed by it. As a powerful enemy emerges from the depths of limbo, containing it may not be an option anymore.

Now, if only Twilight wasn't so eager to toss herself into the fight, that would be great.

Since the dawn of time, the two God-Empresses Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle have ruled side by side over all creation. Throughout the many trials and travails of their eternal lives, whatever they have done, they have done together.

So what does it mean when, for the first time in forever, one of them refuses to attend a private, annual celebration the two of them have always shared together? Sunset would sure like to know, because her wife has done just that. But in trying to understand her wife's absence, she may wind up dredging up unpleasant memories long buried...

But when the sorceress Sunset Shimmer, personal student of Princess Celestia and rumored lover of Princess Twilight defects from the Order of Canterlot and steals her crown, Twilight Sparkle asks her friends to help find her.

But will the six of them be enough to defeat Sunset Shimmer? And will Twilight have the fortitude to do what needs to be done when they finally do find her?

The beautiful sights and sounds of a sunny day in the small town of Gifthorse Beach are to be the backdrop of the wedding of Sunset Shimmer and Rarity. A perfect day, the perfect spot, and course, the perfect dress made by the bride herself.

However, as the old saying is quick to remind, "something always goes wrong at a wedding."

Sunset knows that. Rarity knows that. But it's still going to happen to them all the same.
